Jayde

Somehow, Harry apparently picked up the twins before I could and texted me they're staying with him for the night. I don't bother fighting it due to the fact that my power is still out, but Harry doesn't know that.

I don't even feel like talking to him let alone staying the night at his house with the attitude he has now. I really don't know what got into him, last night was a little bit much and even this morning he woke up in a playful mood but after his call with Jenna it's like his mood did a full three-sixty and everyone he came in contact to today noticed it.

It's a bit off for him to act like that, especially with how dismissive he was being as well but he isn't my man so I don't really have to worry about him, only for the kids sake. As I pull up to the parking lot to the apartment, all the lights are still off besides the emergency lights. I get out the car and rush to my apartment door and I'm welcomed with darkness and a chilly house. Just my luck.

I set my bags down on the kitchen table and navigate my way to the living room with the help of the flashlight on my phone and light a candle.

As I walk to my kitchen, the glass of a wine bottle is hit by the light of the flashlight and begins calling my name. I open my cabinet and grab a long stemmed glass and set it down on the counter.

The cork flies out of the bottle and lands onto the cold tile floor. I lean the glass on its side and begin filling the glass until it is half full. Placing the cork back into the bottle to save the rest for later occasions, I slide it onto the top shelf of the fridge and return to the couch.

Sipping and scrolling are what keep me entertained for about an hour. I scroll through all social media's, Facebook, Twitter, Snapchat and land on Instagram. My thumb carelessly flicks the side of the screen but lands on an all too familiar picture. A picture that was taken on this very couch in this exact spot a slew months back when I talked to Michael. I wouldn't even call it dating, it was basically just an extended one night stand that lasted for less than a month.

Although Michael is terrible in relationships, he is a great friends, and an even greater friends with benefits. But I vowed to myself that I wouldn't go to no man for casual relationships or hook ups, if they were serious or ready to settle down then they weren't the one for me. And that's something that Michael definitely isn't ready to do yet. He still needs some more running to do before he hits That stage in his life.

I scroll past the picture and after about five minutes, exit off the app all together. There's nothing left to do so I decide to call Harry to tell the kids goodnight but I am sent to his voicemail. I can't deal with his outbursts but the kids are involved so I can't flip out on him like I usually would. I refuse to be one of those women who use children against the father.

* tell the kids I said goodnight, have a great day, I love them so much and I'll see them tomorrow when I pick them up from daycare*

After about ten minutes of waiting for his reply, it still says delivered and is unopened so I drag myself to my bedroom and go to bed for the night.

The next morning, the alarm on my phones sounds off signaling its time for me to get up for work. I cannot put into words how cold I am and how desperate I am to turn over and shut my eyes for a few more hours due to such a lack of sleep.

To attempt to warm myself up in this freezing apartment I rush to my bathroom and turn the hot water knob all the way on. About five minutes go by and the water is still ice cold so I eventually give up and throw on a calf length pencil skirt, a white blouse and a peacoat on top of that and rush out the house.

I don't bother with breakfast or coffee, I just want to get something warm. Leaving about forty-five minutes earlier than usual puts me ahead of the work traffic rush so I get to Styles Enterprises almost too early. The smell of coffee wafts from across the street and fills my car and pulls me in. Before I know it I'm across the street seated at a table in the corner.

I order my usual, a vanilla latte, no foam, extra whip and a spinach, tomato and egg white breakfast wrap. As I walk up to the counter and grab the tray, Michael appears through the door and his eyes almost immediately trail towards me. He flashes me a sweet smile and I walk back to my table.

"Jayde." He whines as he takes a seat at my table. I blankly look up to him, and he has an adorable pout on his face.

"Michael what is it, if it's not about work I don't want to hear about it." His icy blue eyes shifts from the table back to mine and I can't help to fall so deep into them the way I had when we only dated for that short month.

"It is its Harry, after he told you to go or you left or whatever he literally flipped out on everyone, on every floor and every department and wouldn't let anyone's his office, say a word to him or even look at him without insulting and cussing someone out." I take a bite from my wrap and suck the juices off my fingers before placing it back down on the wrapper.

"Okay, so what does this have to do with me?" He rubs his hands together and places his thumbs under his chin while resting his fingers in the middle of his face.

"Ya as an entire company have unanimously decided that you go talk to him and try and calm him down because if he doesn't then many employees have already stated that there will be issues." I stare at him blankly in denial of what just came out his mouth. Are we really in high school right now?

My eyes constantly roll, from being just that annoyed but none the less, I agree and walk sided by side with Michael out of the cafe and into Styles Enterprises.

The entire way up to Harry's office, 'goodlucks' and 'thank yous' are thrown my way, which heightens my nerves even more than they were previously. On the elevator up Michael stops on his floor and allows me to ride up to, and go to Harry's office on my own.

Through the cloudy glass doors I watch as a figure moves across quickly. I raise my hand to the glass and lightly knock fearing for what it yet to come. He doesn't answer so I know once more and hear a loud growl on the other side.

"Who the hell is it?" He snaps from the other side, although I can't see him I imagine him running a hand through his loose curls and pulling in the ends of them.

"I-it's Jayde." I stammer to get out. I had previously told myself that I would got into his office and act normal like it was any other day, obviously my mind has a mind of its own.

Loud footsteps come stalking towards the door and he swings it open. He face is bright red, he hair is a mess and his shirt is unbuttoned almost to his belly. I look into his eyes and he almost instantly looks away from me and opens the doors wider for me to come.

"Harry..." He holds a hand up to me as he walks back to his desk and sits down. "No Harry we really need to talk." I push on, I'm not leaving this office until I get to the bottom of this. "Jayde, not right now. Please leave me alone." I stand to my two feet and walk up to the side of his desk, inches away from his chair.

"No Harry! You just can't go around harassing you're own employees, no one comes to work and want to be harassed.." he stands up from his chair and towers over my five foot three stature. He eyes are blazing with anger and although I know he won't physically harm me, his intimidation really does worry me.

"Harass? Is that what the assholes are really saying?" His face inches closer to mine until there are only inches separating mine from his. I feel my throat beginning to close and it feels as if the heat in the room has rose at least twenty degrees within the last few seconds.

"Y-Yes Harry, just cause you're having a bad day or who knows what, doesn't mean you can be a dick and make there day here hell as well. You're the boss and they're the employees who take time out of there day and help you reach your own damn goals, without them you'd be nothing." I yell back into his face. His jaw clenches and his fist grips the edge of his marble desk at my words.

"Oh I'll be nothing? If it wasn't for me you'd be living under the bridge in a box by yourself, don't forgot who you're talking to Jayde, I can fire you within the blink of an eye so don't get too comfortable." I know I called him out but that's hurts. As hypocritically as I seem about what is happening my feelings are truly hurt that he was say that to me, especially since I am proving for his two kids.

"Oh really Harry? Go fuck yourself, you worthless piece of sh..." before I can get the rest of my words out my body is forcefully pulled to Harry and his lips wrap around mine and he doesn't let go.
