Josh was an amazing boyfriend. He was sweet, kind and so loving. And so, so hot. But when he played, your stress level was through the roof.

Josh was sweet and kind, except when he was playing hockey. When Josh was on the ice, he was out for blood. Josh wasn't a small guy, so you knew that he could handle himself, but that didn't stop you from worrying. There were always guys bigger than him, stronger than him, and anything could happen in a fight.

One wrong hit, you slide the wrong way, fall the wrong way, and it could be devastating. But, you kept your feelings to yourself. Hockey and fighting was his job and he loved his job, and you had no place to tell him how much it stressed you out.

The Blue Jackets were playing the Bruins in Columbus.

You were sitting in one of the suites in the arena with other wives and girlfriends to watch the game. And you had been on the edge of your seat all game. The last time the Blue Jackets faced the Bruins, Josh fought Chara after a nasty hit. And, unsurprisingly, Josh lost that fight. Josh was good, but Chara was...big and brutal and he took Josh down so easily...

And since then, Josh wanted revenge. He wanted to get Chara back for the hit, for the fight. Josh was a Goon, and losing wasn't something he did well. Which was why you were so nervous about this game. You knew that Josh would pick a fight.

And you weren't wrong.

Josh was a good fighter and he could do more than hold his own, but Chara was half a foot taller and 35lbs heavier. And Josh was angry. No one thought clearly when they were angry, instead the anger would make a person more prone to recklessness, cause them to make mistakes.

Josh had been playing rougher with Chara all game, hitting more than necessary. But, the moment he tripped Chara, your heart started to beat faster. Chara pushed himself off the ice and immediately went after Josh, which was exactly what Josh wanted.

You gripped your water bottle tightly as you watched the fight on the jumboscreen. You could see the hits Josh was taking to his face, the blood that was dripping from his nose onto his jersey. Your chest felt tight. Josh was big and Chara was even bigger, you knew that the refs wouldn't try to get in between them, especially when it was an instigated fight.

But Josh didn't go down like you were expecting. Instead, with the use of his skates and tripping, Chara went down, pulling Josh down on top of him, where he landed another punch before the refs came over and pulled him off.

You shook your head in surprise. You really weren't expecting that. You were surprised, happy, upset, scared and worried all at the same time.

The refs took Josh to the penalty box where he used a towel to wipe the blood off his face, and you stayed standing in the suite, tightly gripping your water bottle.

When the game was over, you quickly grabbed your purse and headed down to the locker room to see your boyfriend. You stood in the hall as you waited for your boyfriend. A few players came out before Josh came out.

As soon as you laid eyes on him, your shoulders fell. You could see the bruises, his split lip and the cut on his nose. Josh cast his eyes down and shrugged at your gaze. You sighed and brought your hands up to cup his face and Josh melted into your touch.

Josh stepped forwards and wrapped his arms around your waist, pulling you against his chest and you melted into him.

"I'm okay." He whispered, knowing how you were feeling.

"I was scared. Chara's so much bigger than you..." You whispered against his chest. "I didn't want you to get hurt."

"I'm okay, I promise. They're just flesh wounds, nothing serious." He said with a chuckle.

You shook your head against his chest and pulled back from hug to give him a smile. He smiled back at you.

"I would kiss you but my lip kinda hurts." He whispered.

You sighed and leaned forwards to press a kiss to his cheek. "C'mon, let's go home, okay? Break your diet and have some ice cream to celebrate taking Chara down, okay? I won't tell."

Josh smiled brightly and nodded. "This is why I love you."

You hummed. "I know."
