You always loved baking. Baking was something that you did as a child with your mom and grandmother, and as you got older, you got more and more invested with baking.

When you were young you would have bake sales on your front lawn, then you got involved in home economic classes in school, and always volunteered in bake sales to raise money. When you were older you entered baking contests, and won a lot of them, and eventually got hired by a bakery, which was your first step to becoming a professional baker.

You worked at that bakery for years, learning the tricks of the trade before you opened your own bakery. You first started operating out of your house; but, as you became more and more popular—hired to make specialty birthday cakes and cupcakes mostly—you were able to actually open your own official bakery.

You were so excited! And your mom was so proud of you!

You and your bakery remained, for the most part, "undiscovered." Meaning, you weren't a top bakery in the city. You lived in Pittsburgh and there were hundreds of bakeries. You made enough to keep afloat and you were happy with what you were doing, so it was all good.

You were working on an order when the bell above the door went off, signaling to you that you had a customer. You put down your piping bag and plastered a smile on your face and walked back to the front.

"Hi, how can I help—" You started but stopped as soon as you realized who was standing on the other side of the counter: Sidney Crosby.

"—you?" You finished after a moment.

Sidney smiled at you. "Hi."

You smiled back at him. "Hi."

You waited for him to say something, but Sid just stood there staring at you with a smile on his face.

"So...How can I help you?" You asked him after he didn't say anything, which pulled him from his thoughts.

Sid pushed himself off the counter that he was leaning on slightly. "Sorry." He said with a small laugh.

"It's okay." You smiled at him.

Sid gave himself a small shake, trying to come back to himself. Truth was, Sid had heard a lot of good reviews about your bakery, and he knew that Kris and Catherine had ordered from you before and really liked it, so when Sid needed to get Kris a cake for breaking a Penguins' record, your bakery was the first to cross his mind.

He just never expected you to be so beautiful. To be honest, he was thrown off guard. You were making him nervous, which led to him being awkward.

"Sorry," Sid said again and you couldn't stop yourself from laughing at the Canadian and how Canadian he was being.

"I want to order a cake." He said finally.

You nodded with a smile, pulling out a slip and pen, placing them on the counter. "I'm going to need you to fill out an order slip on the cake."

Sid stepped closer to the counter to fill the slip out.

"Will this be delivery or pick up?" You asked him after he was done filling it out.

"Pick up." Sid replied softly. "I want to see you again."

You felt yourself blush at his words and nodded your head, writing "pick up" on the order slip.

"Sorry." Sid whispered, referring to his comment.

You looked up at him and smiled softly. "You should stop apologizing."

Sid chuckled softly. "I'll try my best."

"Fighty Sidney in an attractive Sidney." You said to him, feeling brave after his words.

Sid raised an eyebrow at you. "Really?"

You nodded your head and leaned onto the counter in front of you. "All rough and aggressive? Yeah, a girl finds it hot."

Sidney licked his lips and leaned onto the counter too. "Yeah?"

You nodded. "Yeah."

"Would I be coming on too strong if I asked you out right now?" Sid asked you softly, his nerves back.

You bit your lip and shook your head. "No, I think it you would be coming on just the right amount."

Sid smiled softly at you and you grabbed one of your business cards off of the counter and picked up a pen. You were working on writing your cell number down when you heard the bell above the door ding, signaling to you that another customer had walked in.

You finished writing your number down and handed it to Sid with a smile before moving to the side to help the new customer. Sid took a step back, letting you better help the customer. He held the card up and mouthed "I'll call you."

You smiled at him and nodded. Sid smiled back before walking out of your bakery.

He texted you about five minutes later.
