I didn't mean to drive you away...
I didn't mean to make you mad...
I know I'm the worst, but won't you stay for a little longer, even though I'm that bad...?
Adrien gulped as he watched Marinette leave. He didn't try to stop her. What could he do anyway? Force her to stay?
He sighed. He wished Marinette never came here! He wished Emilie never agreed to it. Like seriously, bringing Marinette here was like taking care of another child. How was she okay with that?
But how was Gabriel okay with it as well?
Nothing made sense. Why would Emilie bring Marinette here when she knew the kind of situation they were in. Didn't his mother even think about her safety?!
He heard the front door opening.
Oh no! Mom is back, Mom is back!
He rushed out of his room, and ran straight to Marinette's.
"What are you doing here?" She grumbled, folding her arms and looking away.
"Marinette, cover your ears!" He ordered, and she looked at him weird. "Here!" He walked up to an earphone and put them in her ears, plugging the other end to his phone. "Listen to this music."
"It's too loud!" Marinette yelled.
"I know, but listen to it anyways. Don't remove it, if you do, you lose."
"What?!"
I guess she's not able to hear me now. Adrien started walking out of her room. He heard the bang coming from downstairs, and suddenly he was too afraid to go.
He would always go whenever his mother was in trouble, no matter if she did something that he really hated. He would always be there for her. And then take the hits for her until he was almost dead.
Without anymore thinking, he walked downstairs.
"Are you trying to kill me?!" This time it wasn't Gabriel, but Lina. "How dare you pour hot water on me?!"
"I'm sorry, it was an accident," Emilie begged from the floor. Lina raised her foot and kicked it against her stomach.
"S-Stop it!" He couldn't yell, and how was it suppose to help anyways? Gabriel was just sitting there, doing nothing as if enjoying the show. Cruel man.
"W-WHAT IS GOING ON HERE?!"
Adrien froze. That voice. Marinette?
----
Marinette's P. O. V
I watched as he left. Why was he leaving? I thought he was going to stay here until the music ended.
I groaned. I hated the music, it was too loud, why did I have to listen to it through earphone?!
I was tired of it. I didn't care anymore, so I paused the song, and took off the earphones.
Bang!! Crash!!
I jumped at the sudden noise, but was also curious. I heard angry voices, especially that woman, Lia, was it? Maybe this is why Adrien went downstairs. Because he heard it too.
It was no doubt a family fight. I wanted to go there and see what's going on. So I stood up and walked out the door, out of my room.
Walking downstairs, I see Lina kicking and torturing Emilie. Is this how a family fight is like?!
"WHAT IS GOING IN HERE?!"
I brought attention as I yelled out those words. I was scared, shocked at how this was going. Gabriel wasn't even doing anything, as if he sat there on the couch, as if he was watching a really good movie. Adrien was...crying?
No! This wasn't a family fight. This was so much more. Gabriel and Lina were bullying them. And I'm not a fan of bullies.
I then walked down the last step of the stairs, finally gaining attention from Adrien. He didn't speak as he looked away again.
"What's going on here?" I repeated, but this time much more calmly.
Seeing Emilie on the floor I rushed to help her, but this lady, Lina, stopped me.
"This is not your house. Don't get into businesses that are not yours!" Lina growled.
"You haven't even completely moved in here yet, so it's not completely your mansion either," Marinette shrugged, bending down to help the woman on the floor.
This was abuse. Why wasn't Adrien or even Gabriel calling the police?! No, they're just gonna watch their family member get beat up by some lady that wasn't even a family member? Who was this Lina, and what was her purpose in coming here?!
"Marinette, sweetie, you better mind your own business, or else you'll get hurt," finally Gabriel spoke. I half expected him to come and help me help Emilie. But from his face and looks and everything, he didn't look like the kind of guy that would help people.
I hated him.
"Hey, you should be thanking me!" I yelled in anger. "I'm doing your job. I'm helping your wife up on her feet while you just sit there and enjoy the show. Are you trying to show me that you don't care about Mrs. Agreste?!"
I clenched my fist in anger. If Lina dared to take one more step towards Emilie, I wouldn't hesitate to give her a punch.
"You better go back upstairs!" Gabriel yelled, getting on his feet. "This is not your business. You better respect that as you are in my mansion, and not yours. Except, if you want to join in the fun, then..."
I was surprised at myself for what I did next. I slapped him!
Had he seriously just called Lina beating up his wife fun?!
Around me I could see everyone having the same shocked face that I had slapped Gabriel. Gabriel only chuckled, so it seemed like no one had ever had the gut to give him a slap that he's always deserved.
"You wretched little..." Lina rushed to hit me, but Gabriel stopped her.
"Three of you," He said, pointing at me, Adrien and Emilie, "you three go upstairs and stay there."
"Good!" I growled. "It's not like I even want to stay here and see you face, you cold human being."
I followed Adrien close behind as he followed Emilie.
Once we reached upstairs, I grabbed him and pulled him in my room.
"I demand an explanation!"
