"Cat Noir?!"
Marinette stared wide eyed at the hero in front of her. It was about 7:45pm, and she was returning back to the Agreste mansion from hanging out with Alya. Her heart flutter seeing that Cat Noir had finally come to see her.
"Hello, my Princess. Long time, no see."
Marinette giggled. "Sorry I didn't tell you my new location. I kinda moved, but don't worry, soon I'll be returning back. Okay?"
"Can't wait. It is a good thing I caught you, or else who knows when I would see you again," Cat Noir said, but something in his voice made Marinette frown.
Ah, Marinette, get that thought off your head. How could you possibly think Adrien is Cat Noir. They look nothing alike.
"Are you okay?"
Marinette looked up. "Yea, I'm fine. Just some thoughts. Anyway, in case you're wondering... I live in the Agreste mansion."
"I don't think I'd be able to visit," Cat Noir smiled a little. "Once you move back, I'll come then, okay."
He turned to go, but Marinette stopped him.
"Before you leave, I have to tell you something," Marinette gulped. "I've been meaning to tell you a lot of times, and I can't wait any longer."
"What is it, Princess?"
"I... Well... I'VE ALWAYS LIKED YOU, CAT NOIR!" She blurted out. She drew in a huge breath. "I've always wanted to tell you, but I haven't got the courage. Now I have-"
"No."
"What?" Marinette looked up, her heart beating fast. "Did you say... No?"
Cat Noir looked down. "Listen Marinette, you're a sweet girl, but... We can't be together."
She could hear her heart shattering in pieces. She tried to hold in her tears, at least hold them in until she was out of Cat Noir's sight.
"W-why?" She squeaked. Was she not good enough? Did Cat Noir not think of her as more than a friend?
"It will be... Impossible for us to be together. You see-" He then stopped. "I... I'm sorry Marinette, but this wasn't the right time."
Marinette nodded. "O-okay. I'll be leaving now." She whirled around and started running away, letting all the tears free. How stupid she was to think Cat Noir liked her back in that kind of way.
She barged inside the mansion and ran upstairs, not wanting to bump into anyone, especially Lina, in case she decided to make fun of her.
Shutting her door, she fell down in her bed and tried to force herself to stop crying.
A few minutes later, a knock came on her door. She didn't move, too tired, broken, to stand up and walk up to the door.
Adrien's voice came. "Marinette? Marinette, are you okay?"
Of course she was not okay! How could she be?! Just when she saw Cat Noir again, she decided it was time to tell him her feelings. She was so stupid.
"Marinette, can I come in?"
"NO YOU CAN'T!" She yelled, making Adrien jump at the sudden yell. Even she too was surprised. Why did she suddenly get angry?
"Alright. When you're ready to talk, I'll be in my room." There were sounds of foot steps walking away, until she heard a door close.
She drew in a sniff, and sat up from her bed. Now her pillow was wet with her tears, and she didn't care.
Flipping the pillow over, she stood up and walked up to the door. Then she opened it and peeked outside.
Adrien's door was closed, and she closed hers too, not wanting to disturb him at all.
She didn't lock it though, and fell on her bed again, this time falling asleep.
