Adrian's P. O. V

It's nice to hear Marinette laugh, even at the slightest stupid thing I do or say.

Hearing her laugh, smile and is actually not running away from me, shows me that she's enjoying being next to me.

But it's not enough to proof... To proof that she may actually like me in that sort of way.

I watched as she started walking next to me. She was even holding my hand. Nobody would ever want to do that.

I felt happy. This was the first time I'd ever went out with a girl... Or with anyone.

She talked a bit about the different things she did with her parents before they had to leave. How she wished she had a sibling.

And she even mentioned something about Cat Noir.

Hearing about that super hero, I wanted to hear more. To know what she thought of him.

"So, what about this Cat Noir?" I cleared my throat and asked. "Are you two lovers or something?"

"Huh?" Marinette exclaimed. "No, he's just... A friend. My best friend, that is. He would usually come over and visit me. But now I've moved with you, I forgot to tell him my location, and he's not coming anymore."

Marinette, he's right next to you...

"He sounds nice," I didn't know what to say about that. I don't even know why I asked her if they were lovers or something, but I really wanted to know how she felt about him. "So what? Do you like him?"

Marinette looked up at him, then down. "A bit."

What does that mean? A bit? Is that a yes or a no?

I would have asked more questions, but someone interrupted. When that voice spoke up, Marinette quickly let go of my hand, ad if we weren't supposed to be seen together like this.

"Marinette, what are you doing here?"

"Oh Alya? Are you going home as well?" Marinette walked about two feet away from me, facing Alya and not bothering to turn and see how I looked.

"Marinette, don't change the subject like that!" Alya demanded, folding her arms. "Why are you with... Him?"

Marinette then turned to me, before turning back to Alya. "I..." She seemed to be lost for words. I didn't know whether to be upset or disappointed. Maybe both.

"Marinette and I just happened to see each other while going home." I spoke. I didn't want to. I wanted Marinette to tell Alya what we were really doing, but she wasn't going to say something.

"Ah, I see." Alya didn't put much thought into that. She didn't even look at me, but I didn't care. "Marinette, can I come over? I was actually on my way to your bakery. For some reason, your bakery has been closed?"

"Ah, about that..." Marinette fumbled with her words. "You see, my parents went somewhere so I'm living in the bakery alone..."

Ouch...

"Of course, my parents didn't trust me to deal with the bakery, so it's closed until they come back," Marinette smiled.

"Okay." Alya rolled her eyes. "Can I still come over for... "

"NO!" Marinette seemed to yell out the words. "I'm going somewhere today, so you can't."

Alya frowned, but she nodded and started to walk away.

Marinette turned back to me, but I looked away from her and started walking home as well.

I wanted her... To tell Alya that she was living with me. But of course she probably didn't want to be embarrassed about it, so she didn't tell.

It hurt.

"Ah, wait for me!" Marinette ran to catch up, and I waited. I didn't know why. I was mad at her. But I waited.

I half expected her to tell me the reason why she lied to Alya, but she just kept quiet the whole time.

Double ouch...

I sighed, and didn't say anything either until we reached home.

I don't even know why I'd asked her about Cat Noir. Even if she did like him, there was no way she was going to like me. If she and Cat Noir got together, sooner or later I'd have to tell her that Cat Noir is none other than this guy - Adrien Agreste.

I opened the door and allowed her to walk in first, then I walked in.

Gabriel and Lina seemed to be waiting for us when we arrived, because both looked pretty pissed.

"Adrien Agreste, where have you been?!"
