"W-what was that all about?" Alya frowned as Marinette put the phone down. "Why did Gabriel say all that?! What punishments?! What did you do, Mari?"

"I..." Marinette gulped. She knew this was a warning that Gabriel had just given her. In order to keep Adrien safe, she had to stay away. "Nothing, it's fine."

Alya had her suspicions, but she didn't want to bother Marinette with it. If she said it was okay, then that meant she didn't want to talk about it.

"Alright," pushing the conversation aside, she got back to Marinette's bags. "Let's finish packing and then hang out, okay?"

Marinette nodded at the excellent plan, then she got off her butt and started unpacking her stuff.

-----

Finally finishing with the bag, which took longer than they expected because they were always caught up in a conversation, they went out for ice cream.

For some reason, Marinette crossed her fingers hoping that she would bump into Adrien anywhere, even if she knew the chances were very slim. Gabriel never let his son out except if he wanted him to, and if Adrien was being punished as grounded, then he wouldn't be out.

"What's on your mind, Marinette?" Alya sighed and finally took the last lick of her ice cream.

"Nothing, I already told you that," Marinette answered again.

"If you were really fine," Alya started biting into the cone, "then you would have noticed that you dropped your ice cream."

"Huh?" Marinette looked down, and sure enough, her vanilla ice cream was on the ground. She sighed. "I'm just... Worried."

"About what?" Even though she still feel a bit upset that Marinette was thinking of something else, someone else, when it was their time together, she was still very interested.

Marinette gulped. It wasn't her place to tell Alya about what was going on, she knew that. Yet the guilt kept eating her up. One side of her wanted Alya to know, besides Alya might help. But another part didn't, because she knew Adrien was going to be mad.

"I'm worried about Adrien," She finally decided to say. "He's getting grounded for something I did, and I feel guilty for it."

"Oh," Alya wasn't sure to believe that, but she did. Marinette would never lie to her, right? "Well, if you want, we can go visit Adrien to clear things up."

Marinette's eyes widened. "Wouldn't visiting Adrien make things worst." It would, she knew it herself. Gabriel wouldn't even let her in anyway.

"Oh, it would?" Alya frowned. "Well, we can try something else. But seriously, do something about your ice cream!"

Marinette giggle and turned back to the ice cream owner. "Another vanilla ice cream please. Sorry for the bother."

As her ice cream was being ordered, Marinette's phone rang. Taking it out and pressing the call button without checking who it was, she pressed it against her ear.

"Hello."

"M-Marinette."

It was Emilie's voice, Marinette realized, and she sounded so worried, so scared, as if something horrible had happened.

"What is it? Anything wrong?"

Due to her being on the phone, Alya took her ice cream instead and listened as Marinette continuecontinued to talk.

"A-Adrien..." There seemed to be a huge pause as Emilie took a gulp. "Adrien is in the hospital!"

Marinette gasped at the news. She didn't know whether to drop her phone in shock or faint.

"Marinette, what's wrong?" Alya frowned yet again. Marinette was acting so weird, obviously she was hiding something. "Your ice cream is melting."

"Now is not time for the ice cream!" Marinette exclaimed. She was done walking away, she was done listening to Gabriel.

"We're going to the hospital!"
