“Your sister dragged herself out of that fire. I went back to your house to search for any evidence that could be linked back to Marlow. The fire was a terrible one. There was nothing in that place but ashes but I had a feeling that something wasn't right. I was about leaving when I found a trail of blood. I followed it and it led me to your sister. ” Lucas said and sighed.
“She was very weak when I found her. There was this fear I had that she wouldn't make it. I brought her here and paid all the doctors for their silence. The blow to her head pur her in this coma. Even the doctors had given up but this morning her brain started working again and she opened her eyes. Your sister said your name. She said “run, kal, run” before the coma took her again. The doctors said there's a high chance that she hasn't lost her memory. ”

Lucas stopped talking and looked at his son. He loved him too much to hurt him and didn't like it when he was upset. He hoped this wouldn't change anything between them.

“You said you brought her here directly from Blue County. How come she didn't bleed to death on the journey? ” Logan asked.
“I brought her to Blairtown first and had her wounds cleaned up there, I brought her here because there wasn't proper treatment in Blairtown for her condition. ”
“I know you meant well Dad. I shouldn't even be yelling at you but rather thank you for everything. Nobody would have cared for us the way you did. You've given us new lives but this is a terrible blow. I still can't believe she's alive. ”

Logan moved to the window and stared out into the city. He had missed his sister terribly. Finally, he could let go of the guilt that plagued him since that night that changed his life. He had run like a coward and couldn't protect his family. Everything was going to change. He had money, power and most of all, a father that loved him.
He had a new mission in mind. He was going to get revenge. Marlow Carstairs was going to pay dearly for what he had done to them. It was time to avenge his parents. He moved to the bed and stroked Katherine's cheek. She looked so pale.

“What did the doctors say? Will she get better? ”
“Yes son. The doctors said she's going to survive. They just need her to wake up and start therapy. We just need to pray that it happens soon.”
They left the hospital and stayed in Logan's penthouse. It was too late to go back to the estate. Logan made sure his dad was settled in properly. He poured two glasses of brandy. He gave one to his dad and looked out the window. He downed his brandy in one swallow. The taste burned down to  his toes. The truth about his sister's health changed everything. His taste for revenge couldn't be stopped. It roared within him like a hurricane.

“Dad, will you help me get revenge on Marlow? ”
“I thought we talked about this Logan. You said you didn't want to get revenge. You know Marlow is a public figure. You'll be ruining many lives by destroying his image.” Lucas said with a look of concern on his face.
“That was before I discovered that my sister was alive. This changes everything dad. I've finally let go of the guilt that has plagued me all these years. I have reasons now more than ever to get revenge. ”
“You need to think things through Logan. Are you sure this is what you want?”

Logan threw  his glass to the wall. It broke into a hundred pieces. He ran his hand through his hair.
“I'm tired of running Dad. I have everything to destroy that man and give him a taste of his own medicine. I'm no longer that helpless kid that ran away years ago. Who cares if people's lives are gonna be ruined? Those people helped Marlow destroy my family.
I need to know why he killed my parents. You don't wake up one morning and decide to murder an entire family. I'm not going to run anymore. Its time to find out the truth. Are you gonna help me or not?”

Logan sat across from his dad and folded his hands. His future depended on his father's decision.
“I'll help you Logan. But on one condition. ”
“What's that dad? I'll do anything to get your support. ”
“I don't want Marie involved in this. Whatever your plans are, you can't involve her. I don't want  my daughter in harm's way.”

Logan knew that his father loved his sister dearly. He called her  his sunshine in his world of darkness. If this  was what it was going to take to make his dad help him, he accepted it. Besides, Marie was too young to understand any of this. That means his plans will be out of the estate. He had no choice. It was this or nothing at all.

“Fine Dad. I'll keep Marie safe. I won't  let anything happen to her. I'll take my plans out of the estate. You have my word. ”
“That's fine. You have  my support. Discuss your plans with Richard and Robert. Those boys have enough guts to help you with what you need. Just make sure you keep me updated and don't let Mary get a wind of this. You know how protective she is. I need some sleep Logan and you do too. Good night son.”

Lucas left  his soon to brood with  his demons. The boy had every right to seek vengeance against Marlow. And God help him, Marlow had his days numbered. He knew Logan, when the boy set his mind to something, he was going to accomplish it. He just prayed that he hadn't sold his son's soul to the demons that plagued his nightmares every night.
