The jet finally landed, and the team departed and returned to the BAU where Garcia was waiting eagerly with Alyssa by her side as they both waited for the team to appear out of the elevator As the doors opened, the team stepped in and were greeted by Penelope and Alyssa, who launched herself at Derek, giving him a tight hug.
"I missed you," whispered she as she clung onto the agent
"Me too, kid," he replied to her
"What happened?" The girl asked, letting go and noticing the stitches on the right side of Morgan's forehead.
"It's nothing, doesn't even hurt," he assured her. Alyssa gave him a look of disbelief, raising her finger and pressing against the stitches, making Derek wince in pain.
"Doesn't hurt, huh?" she laughed along with the rest of the team as they made their way to their desks.
"How was your day at school?" the agent asked the girl
"Great, Kara and I have become really good friends, and I become friends with some other girls as well,"
"That's great."
The two waved goodbye to the team before driving home and falling fast asleep not long after as both had a really long day.
The Next Day
Alyssa unbuckled her seatbelt and climbed out the car and waved goodbye to Derek before he drove away. The girl greeted her newly founded best friend Kara and walked to their lockers, which were coincidentally next to one another. Kara was quite a pale looking girl with dark hair and eyes and quite thin, wearing a red plaid shirt and jeans. Both turned their locks and pulled open their lockers, collecting their essential books and folders when they were greeted by two other girls. One had blue eyes and freckled dotted around her nose with short bleach blonde hair, and the other had brown eyes with strawberry blonde hair and wore a necklace with a heart that sat on her pink sweater. Alyssa was familiar with the girl who wore the heart necklace, Rachael Winters. However, she had not met this other girl.
"Hey Kara, hey Alyssa," Rachael greeted. Both girls responded with a simple hello.
"Who's this?" Kara asked in a confronting tone, pointing at the other girl.
"Hi, I'm Alison, Alison Denver," she said shyly, holding out her hand to shake Alyssa's and Kara's. Alyssa happily shook her hand, but Kara just stared at her intensely, successfully making everyone around feel awkward. Denver. That name was familiar to Alyssa. But she didn't know where.
"Do I know you?" the girl asked curiously
"I don't think so, I moved from out of state," Alison answered. Alyssa shook it off, but it kept coming to her mind. She'd definitely heard that name somewhere. Kara rolled her eyes and slammed her locker shut.
"I'm going to class, come on, Alyssa." she began walking away, and Alyssa caught up with her with Rachael trailing not far behind and leaving Alison all by herself.
6 hours later
Morgan sat patiently in his car, waiting for Alyssa to approach. The students came piling out the doors as soon as the school bell dismissed them. Alyssa came with the crowd with Kara right beside her . They walked to the parking lot and arrived at Derek's car, who winded down the window.
"Hey, Alyssa," he said as the girls turned towards him.
"Hey, this is Kara. Kara, this is Derek, my..." she began, unsure how to finish her sentence. Kara picked up on the awkwardness.
"Hi," she said sweetly, shaking Derek's hand. "My mom's parked over there, so I'll see you tomorrow, Alyssa."
"Ok, bye." The girls waved goodbye, and Kara walked down the parking lot, climbing into a blue Ford, and Alyssa climbed in with Derek and drove to the BAU
"Derek, does the name Denver mean anything to you?" the girl asked. The name that had been playing in her mind all day. Derek thought for a second.
"No, I don't think so. Why?" he asked
"There's this girl called Alison Denver, and I swear I've heard that name before. I just don't know where from"
The whole journey, Alyssa couldn't think of anything else but that name. Until one idea came to her mind. An idea she hoped wasn't true. One she begged wasn't true. They arrived at the BAU and made their way to Derek's desk.
"Where's Rossi, I need to ask him something?" Alyssa asked. Rossi was the only person who could confirm her theory.
"In his office probably, what do you need to know?" Derek asked
"It doesn't matter, one minute," she said quickly before rushing to Rossi's office. Derek knew something was up. Alyssa knocked three times on Rossi's door before opening it.
"Hello Alyssa, how are you?" Rossi asked her
"I'm fine, but I need to ask you something important," Alyssa replied, closing the door behind her. Rossi noticed the closed door. This was something important.
"Of course, what is it?"
"My father gave you the whereabouts of the family he abducted in trade for not getting a life sentence, right?"
"Yes, that's right, but not the whole family survived."
"What do you mean?"
"The mother and sister died, but the father and their 2 month old daughter survived."
"What was the name of their daughter, the one that survived, I mean?" Alyssa asked slightly on edge.
"I can't remember. Addison or Alison, I think, it was a number of years ago, " Rossi answered. Alyssa's stomach twisted.
"What was their last name?"
"Denver"
