Alyssa endlessly tossed and turned all night, struggling to get to sleep. No matter how hard she tried, she was wide awake. When she did, it didn't take long for her to wake up again. The girl looked at her phone, charging on the end table. 3:21 am. She grunted with frustration as she slammed her head against the pillow. Why couldn't she just go to sleep? Her door opened slightly, which made a creak that startled her as she rose with a gasp. She climbed out of bed and walked over to the disruptive door and closed, double checking she closed it rightly before climbing back to bed.

Morning arrived, bringing the sun's light through the windows and the bird's rehearsed songs they sang from the sky. Alyssa had finally fallen asleep in the end, but two hours later, her alarm woke her up. She was beyond tired and frustrated. Why wasn't she this tired hours ago. Instead of hopping out of bed, Alyssa continued to lay there and go back to sleep. If only it was the weekend. However, her door opened, and a voice interrupted her well needed snooze.

"Alyssa, unless you want to be late, you need to get out of bed," Derek told her

"Noo," she groaned, talking into a pillow over her head. She desperately wanted to stay home today and forget school. "I need sleep,"

"Alyssa"

"You don't want me to fall asleep in class, do you?"

"Alyssa"

"Sleep is crucial for people my age."

"Alyssa"

"Alright, fine, but if I fall asleep in class, it's your fault," she claimed, dragging herself out of her bed. It felt like the hardest thing she ever had to do. Finally getting ready, Alyssa was ready to start her day with heavy eyelids.

School had ended, and the students came piling out the doors, eager to return home. Alyssa came towards the parking lot, and Derek wasn't happy seeing Kara by her side as it made his stomach twist. Alyssa waved goodbye to her, climbing into the car.

"Hey, how was your day?" she asked, closing the door and placing her bag by her feet.

"It was alright, how was yours?" Morgan asked, pulling out

"Awful, I was struggling to stay awake through the whole day," she said with a sudden change in her tone. Derek should've known that was coming.

"Where are we going?" Alyssa asked, noticing that they weren't going down the same road towards home.

"Back to the BAU, I need to finish a few things. It won't take long, " the agent answered her. The girl nodded, resting her head against the window and closing her tired eyes throughout the ride. When they arrived outside the building, the two proceeded to the elevator that carried them up to the sixth floor. Alyssa sat by Derek's desk watching people in smart suits rushing around with various documents and files.

"Hi guys, how are you doing?" Prentiss approached when noticing the two walk-in. When Morgan began to answer her but Alyssa was quick to interrupt.

"Exhausted because a certain someone wouldn't let me sleep," she said. Derek smiled and laughed, as did Emily. "Sleep is important to me," she continued

"Teenagers actually need more sleep than the average adult because they're in an important stage of their growth and development," Reid added, joining the conversation

"Thank you," Alyssa said. Derek continued to laugh in his seat, not taking her seriously. Alyssa phone pinged from her pocket. She pulled it out and read her message. She rolled her eyes and placed her phone back into her pocket.

"What is it?" Derek asked her

"Nothing, Kara's got detention," she replied. Derek wasn't surprised by this, though. But he was glad that Alyssa didn't dragged into her messes this time.

"What for?" he then asked

"Nothing that was her fault," Alyssa told him, but he didn't believe it. Nothing seemed to be this girl's fault, and Alyssa was completely brainwashed to believe her. The agent wanted to say something but refrained, worrying it might start another argument, and he didn't have the energy.
