Alyssa was suddenly awoken with a violent shaking. Her eyes widened, and she saw Derek by her side.

"Kid, you OK. You were screaming, " he said softly. Alyssa was quite shaken up but nodded for a reply. Derek pulled her close, wrapping his arms around the girl. He brought her into the kitchen and got her a glass of water. "What happened?" he asked. Alyssa grabbed the glass and began taking sips of the water and explained everything. Including Alison.

"You're safe now," Derek assured her, pulling her into another hug.

"I'm sorry for everything," Alyssa apologized

"Me too, kid,"

"And thank you,"

"What for?"

"For being a dad"

Derek looked at her, still holding her close.

"No problem, kid,"

"Not that I know what having a dad would be like, but I'd say you're doing a good job," she joked. Derek laughed with her before he put Alyssa back to bed. Derek pulled the comforter over the girl's shoulder and kissed her head before heading out of her room.

"Derek?" she said quietly

"Yeah?" he replied

"Do I have to go to school tomorrow?" she asked.

"No, you can have tomorrow off. But.."

"But what?"

"We're going to have to revisit this counsellor conversation," he told her. Alyssa really didn't want to see a  counselor, but she knew there was a chance of negotiation.

"Fine," she said, resting her head on the pillow and falling asleep. Derek closed the door behind him and went back to bed. He was glad that he wasn't fighting with Alyssa again.

The next day, Derek brought Alyssa with him to the BAU, still quite shaken up. Even with Scott dead, he still managed to haunt Alyssa. Her dream seemed so real that it shook the girl, cuddling up to her mother, the memories on the screen. Even the blade pierced through her flesh. She sat on Derek's desk contemplating. Derek started on his paperwork when he noticed the girl looking off at the distance.

"Alyssa?"

The girl blinked and looked towards the agent . She had just come out some sort of trance

"Yeah," she replied.

"Are you alright?" Morgan asked her.

"Yeah, it's just..." The girl hesitated

"What is it?"

"I can't help but think about that morning. My mom went missing, and when I came rushing down those stairs with no clue that my life would plan out like how it has now. Finding out my father was a serial killer from over 10 years ago. Finding out my mom had lied to me my whole life. Almost get blown up and end up in a coma.Bouncing from one family to the next. Being abducted. Get thrown into a river..." Alyssa began

"Kid, it's OK. I know you've been through a lot for a 14 year old. But if you can survive all that, you can survive anything, " Derek interrupted, holding the girl's hands. Alyssa smiled, and the agent smiled back at her before continuing with his work. Alyssa continued to relive her dream, however. She couldn't help it. She had so many questions starting with Scott' s past.  What drove him down that path to murder those people. And how he met Hanna. Alyssa always wondered how someone so innocent and sweet could end up with a cold-blooded killer. And how could she not have known the entire whole time.
