Sadie's head rises and falls on my chest with each breath I take. Up and down. Up and down. Up and down. It's so peaceful, and if it wasn't for the roof shingles poking through the comforter we're wrapped in I might have. I have no idea how long we've been out here snuggled together watching the stars, but it's long enough that my arm is asleep beneath her. It hurts like hell but I can't bring myself to disturb her.

The world is quiet beneath us, and the only sound I can hear is the lapping of the waves on the cliffs a few yards away. Well, that and Alex's terrible bass music one room over. God, I can't wait to move out of here. Sadie will graduate soon, and maybe once she does, we'll be able to get a place of our own.

She fought with her dad again tonight, and it's how she ended up here–something about the exchange trip she wants to take this summer to France–and even though she's supposed to be grounded, she came to see me. I'm not exactly thrilled about the idea of her spending six weeks abroad on her own either, so I was relieved when I heard that she was forbidden to go. Sadie's going through a bit of a rebellious phase lately, pushing against all the restrictions that the Mafia puts on her. Obviously, the expectations are vastly different for the two of us, and I can tell she's starting to resent it. Most of the time, I can talk her down but she can be damn stubborn once she gets an idea in her mind.

"How long do you think it takes to get to the stars?" Her voice brings me back to reality.

Wrapping her in a little tighter, I press a kiss to her forehead. "Are you planning a trip I need to know about?"

"I'm just curious." Her sleepy smile is so damn adorable. "Sometimes sitting out here and watching the waves and the stars and the way the ocean spreads out for millions of miles makes me realize just how big the world actually is."

Sadie's a gypsy at heart and I know it won't be long before she won't let anything stop her. I can indulge that wanderlust in her, even appreciate it, but when I take over, life will become even more stringent for her as my wife and a part of me wonders how she'll react to that. At least for tonight I can indulge her. "Alright Pocahontas, I'll bite. If we left here tonight, where would we go?"

"We?" She arches her eyebrow at me.

"Of course! I can't let you go on this hypothetical exploration alone."

"Greece first. I want to see Santorini." Her eyes dance with endless possibilities. There's nothing in the world I enjoy as much as making her happy.

"And then?"

"Naples and Rome and Tuscany. And London. Can we go to London?" She props herself up a bit, her enthusiasm going strong. She isn't just dreaming anymore; she's planning our future.

"We can do whatever makes you happy, baby." I'd follow Sadie to the ends of the earth. Not to mention I'd feel much better about her world traveling if I'm going with her.
