"Where are you going?" Sadie frowns, as I try to peel myself out from under her naked body.

Damn it. I was trying to leave without waking her up, but she intertwined her body so closely with mine that the second I moved, she could tell. After our romp in the shower, I carried her into bed for a few more rounds before she fell asleep in my arms only about an hour ago. It was the perfect distraction for me, and I felt more confident about my meeting with Herrera than I ever did before. It pains me to have to leave now, but it's time to put an end to things with Herrera.

"If I don't leave now, I'm going to be late." I press my lips gently to her forehead. "I'll be home in a few hours, princess."

Sadie's so exhausted she can hardly open her eyes. "Be safe, okay? And call me as soon as it's done."

"Babe, I'm not going to call you. It'll be three in the morning by that point." I slip a t-shirt on over my head. "Get some rest, and I swear, I'll come back right after it's done."

"You know I'm not going to sleep knowing what you guys are doing." She props herself up a little bit. "Maybe I should get some kind of late night hobby. Like knitting or something."

"I think we both know you don't have the patience for that kind of thing, babe." I smirk, stealing another kiss. "But you have nothing to be worried about. We're just having a conversation. You have nothing to be anxious about, okay?"

"Are you sure you won't call me?" She tries one more time.

"I'll tell you what," I pick her phone up off the nightstand and turn it on silent. "As soon as it's done and I'm on my way, I'll send you a text. But only if you keep this thing silent and try to get some sleep."

"You're so strict." Her sleepy smile is so damn adorable.

"They don't call me the boss for nothing." I chuckle. One last kiss. "I love you, Sadie."

"I love you too." She snuggles further underneath the covers, and I tiptoe out of the room. Leaving her is absolutely torturous.

Everything is set for tonight. Now we just have to execute. Sadie gave Herrera all the details, and Alex and Ro arranged for a large group of our guys to meet at the pier a little while before the time we told Herrera so we're all in place by the time he and his team arrive.

Ideally, tonight will be nothing more than a conversation—exactly like I told Sadie. Herrera is likely to completely fold once he knows that I know his plan and he doesn't have any room to stand anymore. He'll be the laughing stock of the police force, embarrassed right out of town, and with any luck, that will be the end of it.

But if it isn't, I'll be ready for that, too. I'm not one to start a fight, but I'll definitely finish it. Especially when it means protecting my family.

I'm hopeful that tonight will go well, but just in case, I've got men posted up on all sides of that Marina, ready to jump in if necessary.

I lock everything up tight at the penthouse and leave Daniel standing guard at the door. Sadie will be safe there and that's one less thing I have to worry about. By the time I get to the warehouse, Ro, Alex, Jav, and a few of the other guys are already waiting for me.
