Kabanata 3
"Lars, may nagpadala pala sa'yo." I stopped from reading the chart of my new patient when my co-nurse approached me.
"Ano 'yun?" I asked.
"Food, the guard gave it. Ibigay ko raw sa'yo." I smiled and took the paperbag she was giving.
"Salamat," I smiled.
A smile left my lips when I saw a tupperware inside it, naupo ako at kinuha iyon at nangiti nang makita ang sticky note na nakalagay roon.
Call me when you're bored, I'll come there. Don't starve yourself, here's your fave food. I cooked it. Love you.
I opened the tumbler with the tupperware and smelled milk. That man, ayaw talaga palagi akong painumin ng kape.
"Who's the secret lover, Lars? Alagang-alaga ka, huh?" I chuckled when I saw Anna.
"Secret," I grinned.
"Sus, it's been six months simula 'nung may nagpapadala n'yan sa'yo. Ikaw, huh." She teased.
"You'll know him soon," I told her and she nodded, smiling widely at me.
"Make sure of it, okay?"
He's too sweet.
My phone rang, napatalon ako sa gulat roon at mabilis na kinuha ang telepono sa scrubsuit at sinagot.
"Hello?"
"Hey, babe." My heart thumped just by hearing his voice.
"Hello, thank you sa food. Are you home? How's work?"
"Tiring," He sighed. "I'm not yet home, can you go outside the hospital?"
"Now?"
"Yes, please, babe."
"Alright, wait there." I shut my phone off. I put my phone inside my scrubsuit at put my hands on my pockets.
"Hey," I jumped when I felt a grip on my waist.
"Babe," He murmured.
"You're here!" I cheered.
"How's your day?" He murmured. I smiled when he kissed my cheek, tumingala ako para hagkan ng mabilis ang labi n'ya.
"Great," I said. "You? Nakakapagod ba sa hotel?"
"Yup, I've signed a lot of papers today." He sighed. "And you weren't there so I was kinda tired and bored."
It was kinda blurry, his face is blurred I can't see him clearly.
"Thank you for the food," Malambing na sabi ko.
"Don't starve yourself, babe. I want you healthy, alright? Ilang araw ka ng nagna-nightshift. It isn't healthy anymore and please don't drink coffee, hmm?"
