Kabanata 16
"R-Reev..." I didn't even look back, I almost run my way towards the road to call a taxi. Luckily, one taxi stopped. Kaagad akong pumasok roon bago pa man ako maabutan ni Caspian.
"Reev, Reev! Don't leave me!" I closed my eyes when Caspian suddenly knocked on my window.
"Don't mind him, let's go." I said and the driver nodded and started the engine.
"R-Reev! N-Nagmamakaawa ako!" He knocked desperately.
"K-Kuya, pakibilisan." I said.
"S-Sige, Ma'am." The man nodded and the car moved.
"R-Reev, no! Reev! Please!" He sniffed, the rain fell more.
"Reev! Reev!" He exclaimed.
My heart hurt so much, naramdaman ko ang paninikip ang puso ko at hindi na napigilan ang luha sa pagtulo.
"R-Reev... Please!" He exclaimed and slammed the car.
The car moved fast in pace, I closed my eyes tightly to calm myself down. As the car moved, his desperate and begging voice faded slowly and before I can stop myself from looking, I did.
I fould hin kneeling in the middle of the road where I left him, soaked in rain.
Alissa didn't asked me when she saw my state but I saw how curious she is as she stare at me.
"Ma'am, twalya po." She handed me a thick white towel.
"Thank you," I murmured softly and dried my head. "Si Riu, Ali?"
"Tulog na po si Riu, Ma'am. Nasa kwarto n'yo po." I nodded.
"Salamat, Ali." I murmured. She nodded and smiled at me and left.
The moment he heard my footsteps, he rose up. He instantly barked when he saw me kaya ngumiti ako at dumukwang sa sahig.
I caressed his fur softly, he barked again so I spoke.
"Quiet, Cas. Baka magising si Riu." I said softly.
"Thank you for staying with me, Cas." I said softly to my dog, slowly running my palm on its head.
He saw my puffy eyes, I smiled when he whimpered and moved his face towards me and licked my face.
"I'm alright," I said softly. He barked again, softly this time.
"Everything will be alright." I said softly. I hugged my dog tightly.
I saw Riu sleeping peacefully on my bed when I got in, hindi muna ako lumapit dahil basa ako ng ulan at naligo muna.
Just when I was under the shower, I started crying again. I shoudn't but my heart feels so weak that time, kahit ano mang pilit kong pigilan ay walang tigil itong tumutulo.
