He swerved on the highway popping the dirt bike into the air. Today he was alone, he decided that it would be best if he spent some time alone. Shamar felt like he was worried about everyone else lately and not himself. He released the smoke from his mouth, the dark sunglasses covered his eyes. His dreadlocks no longer hung, he had cut them off.
Bree giggled typing on her cellphone, Drake texted her earlier and the two had been talking since then. With Shamar doing his own thing Bree feined for someone to talk to. Shamar didn't speak to her and she didn't bother speaking to him either.
Shayla spinned around in the kitchen resting the two plates on the counter "Drake, dinners ready." She called out. She let out a breath rinsing her hands off "I'm hungry." She mumbled. Shayla and Drake were finally back on good terms, she was even thinking about wearing the engagement ring again. Drake smiled shaking his head bopping into the kitchen "Thanks babe." He lifted his plate pecking her lips.
"Yea it was alot of work, but it's your favorite." She smiled. Drake nodding stabbing his fork into the pasta, his cellphone buzzed on the counter. "You're popular today." Shayla side eyed him. "Its an old friend I'm catching up with." He spoke. He flipped his phone over so that it was face down "Shay, I want us to go somewhere on a vacation, somewhere nice and far Dubai or Bali.." he trailed off.
He parked the bike out front the two story home, he hopped off of the bike. He hadn't been here in weeks but it felt like months. Marsha peaked through her kitchen window, her mouth gaped open when she saw her son. He looked so different he had lost weight, it looked like he was losing sleep, and he shaved his hair. "Shamar?" She gasped embracing him as soon as he pushed open the door. He didn't say anything he just held onto his mother.
"Shamar are you okay? Have you been eating?" She bombarded him with questions. He shook his head "I'm alright I'm just uh, lost.. trying to find myself." He blurted out. Marsha grabbed his arms, she stared at her son for a moment "Come on, come get something to eat we'll talk about it while you eat." She spoke. He nodded taking a seat at the kitchen island. Marsha stood in front the sink, she rinsed off a plate. "I heard about your friend Jay."
Shamar tensed up before sighing "Yea it been all ova' the news, crazy how short life is." He muttered. "You know what? We don't have to talk about anything how about you just eat and try to get some rest."
Shayla's hands trembled, she typed in the passcode to his phone. Drake had fallen asleep on the couch and he left his phone unattended on the counter. She didn't believe his old friend story. She scrunched up her face when the code didn't go through. "You got to be kidding me." She mumbled. "Son of a bitch." She slammed the cellular device on the counter. She marched over Drake, she slapped his arm "Get the fuck up Drake." She exclaimed.
Drake's eyes widened "Shay what the hell is wrong with you.. I- I was sleeping." He rubbed his eyes. "I don't care, why cant I get on your phone? Why did you change your passcode?" She balled her fist towering over him. "Huh? Answer me Drake." She shoved him. He stood up from the chair "So you don't trust me? Why are you trying to get into my phone? I told you that I was talking to an old friend Shay." He swiped the cellphone from the counter. "What's a relationship without trust Shay? How is this supposed to work if you always think that I'm cheating on you?"
Shayla nibbled on her bottom lip "Let me see the phone Drake." She spoke. He shook his head "I'm not talking to that girl I would never put you through that again, after all that we've been through I swear on my life I wouldn't."
