The silver dodge sat outside the apartment complex. He sparked the blunt staring at the staircase. Bree jogged down the steps she scanned the street, she smiled making her way over to his car. He leaned over pushing the door open from the inside "Took you long enough." He started up the car. "Sorry but I couldn't find anything to wear." She spoke. He eyed the bracelet on her hand "Its coo' I see you wearin' my gift." He side eyed her. "Yea I like it, I waited up for you lastnight but you didn't show."
"Yea sorry about that, I got into some shit lastnight." He mumbled. "Um.. so where are we going?" She eyed him. "I don't know we can go out to eat or back to my place its whateva' you wanna do." He shrugged. "I'm not really hungry so we can go to your place." She shrugged. "You know this kinda reminds me of the first time we went out." She giggled. "We got drunk and had sex in the car." She chuckled. "Reckless as fuck." He shook his head. He licked over his lips "Y'know I be missin' you."
She slipped the long sleeve t shirt on, she sighed looking down at her feet. She only had one pair of shoes on the bigger she got the harder it was for her to do regular things. "Maria." Her mother called out. "I'm in my room." She spoke. Sophia her mother stood in the door way "When you're done in here your father and I would like to talk to you about something." She spoke. Maria nodded slipping into her shoe "I'll be down in a minute." She flashed her mother a smile.
Although she lived in a house that was filled with people she still felt alone. No one helped her she still had to do everything on her own. She threw the backpack over her shoulder exiting her bedroom. Sophia and her husband Drew stood beside each other. "I'm here." Maria plopped down on the couch. "Mhm you're gonna want to get real comfortable." Sophia muttered. "Can y'all just tell me what's going on I don't like being nervous." Maria mumbled. "We know that this is going to be a hard decision for you but remember family is first, family is everything." Drew spoke.
"Now Maria you know that we want you to succeed and we want you to go back to college." Sophia added. "Can y'all stop beating around the bushes be straight up with me." Maria kissed her teeth. "We want you to give the baby up for adoption." Drew blurted out. "What the fuck.. No I'm not giving my baby up for adoption.. The fuck." She lifted up from the couch. "Then you're not welcome here anymore." Sophia crossed her arms. Maria paused she stared at her parents in disbelief "Are y'all serious?" She scoffed "I can't believe this shit, you're putting your own daughter out because she doesn't want to give her child up for adoption." She scoffed. "And you said that family is first."
Drake pounded on the apartment door. Shayla's eyebrows knitted together she tiptoed peaking through the peephole. "What do you want Drake?" She groaned. "Shay please open the door atleast hear me out." He spoke. She sighed, she unlocked the door "We can talk outside what do you want?" She placed her hands on her waist. Bree and Shamar made their way down the hallway hand in hand. Drake kneeled down pleading to Shayla to please take his ring back. "Damn." Shamar muttered. "I know right." Bree added. "I wonder what he did." She stared at the man whose face she didn't see yet.
Shamar digged in his pocket, he yucked out his keys. He minded his business not bothering to look at what his neighbor had going on. Bree glanced at the two, she quickly turned her head when she made eye contact with Drake. Shayla scoffed biting down on her lip when she saw Drake and Bree both pause when they saw each other.
"Is that her!?"
