TRICIA
"Theo, hurry up," I said as I entered my brother's room. "The party will begin in less than an hour. Kapag hindi pa tayo umalis ngayon, we'll be late."
"Ate, it's not a sin to be late on an event. Tignan mo nga si Tiana palaging late," Theo chuckled then fixed his cuffs.
I value punctuality. Being late means I am not respecting the time of others. A time wasted is something even money can't buy.
I held on to Theo's arm as we descended the grand staircase of our mansion. I am on a long emerald evening gown, at kailangan ko pang itaas ang laylayan para hindi ako madapa.
Theo and I rode his mustang. Tailing us were my security team. But knowing my parents, mas gusto nilang mag-alaga ng apo kaysa ang maki-party.
"Slow down a little, Theophilus," utos ko sa kapatid ko.
Humalakhak ang loko at nag-bagal nga.
Thanks to Theo's driving, hindi kami na-late sa event.
After parking the car, Theo alighted then run on my side of the car. He opened the door for me then offered his hand. He helped me on my gown then tossed the keys on one of my security. I held his arm then we prepared our smile for the media.
We're groomed to be presentable, respected and renowned.
"Miss Tricia, you're not with Mr. Skipper Vergara?" one media asked the obvious.
"If it's Tiana, I won't come to this event," Theo pouted.
I giggled. "So, mas mahal mo ako kaysa kay Tiana?"
"No. I love the two of you the same. Mas takot lang talaga ako sa'yo," Theo childishly said then grinned at me. "Everybody thinks that Tiana is the badass.
We were escorted to our table.
Theo sighed then started looking around. I shook my head.
The event went by.
"Theo, meet me at the entrance.
"Sama na lang ako sa'yo, Ate," Theo offered which I turned down.
Selene went with me at the powder room.
"I'll go ahead, Selene," I kissed my cousin's cheek then I nodded at her friend.
I was on my way to where I'll meet with my brother when I bumped with an unexpected pair.
"Tricia," Skipper's jaw dropped upon seeing me.My jaw clenched as I look at his arm where his 'date' held him with both hands.
"Theo's waiting for me. Excuse me," I said in a formal, stoic tone then I walked pass them.
Goddamn it.
When I saw Justin, I snatched the keys from his hand. I can hear Theo and Skipper calling me but I ignored them. I went inside the car. Justin was quick enough to hopped in before I sped off.
Don't mess with me.
"I want that Darlene Aiyana gone," I said through gritted teeth. "I don't care how you'll do that, as long as she'll be out of our lives."
"Do you want me to kill her?" Justin asked in serious tone. If I say yes, I know he'll do that.
"No. Dying will be too easy. I want everything she has gone. Strip her of all the luxury she's enjoying right now. Destroy her name. Destroy her."
"Give me two weeks," Justin sighed.
"Keep me away from my husband within that time."
"Copy."
Justin made a call, and within a minute his men blocked the car trying to catch up with me.
I went to Spain. I asked Justin to tell my parents not to worry.
Dad trusts Justin. Hindi n'ya ko hahanapin as long as he knows I'm with Justin.
Bahala si Skipper mahilo sa kakahanap.
Hindi ako nag-trabaho. There's no way to trace me.
After fifteen days, I went home.
"Where have you been?" Mom asked after a hug.
"Vacation,"I simply said.
"I went to Spain. Madami po akong dalang pasalubong," I smiled.
"Theo told us what happened," Mom sighed. "If you're upset, don't walk out. Your husband got the beating from your Dad."
I rolled my eyes. "He deserves that."
"Skipper already explained everything. Hear him out," Mom caressed my face. "Ganito lang ba ang sisira sa inyo?"
I smiled sweetly at my mother. "Hindi po. Don't worry, Mom. Nakapagpalamig na po ako ng ulo."
And Justin's news was enough to appease my anger.
