A/N: Don't ask me where the reader pulls out their dancing skills from, I have no idea. This is fanfiction, after all.
"Are you sure you need your things? Weren't you done with your assignments for the day already?" Sero asked as he pushed the library door open and held it there for you.
"Yeah, but I wanted to bring my binder too as a correction sheet." You explained, walking into the large library. Seriously, this was like Narnia but for books. Did this room ever end? You doubted it.
"Ah, I see. Clever!" Your friend praised as he settled down onto a random table. As silence settled over the two of you for a moment, his expression grew confused. "Why is there music playing..?"
"Ah, U.A. must be believers in the Mozart effect." You smiled to yourself. Of course they were, they were a prestigious school after all. Seeing Sero's confused expression, you decided to explain in more details. "It's a theory that states that playing classical music boosts concentration."
"But we're not here to talk about music theory and neurology." You settled your things down on the table and extended your hand. "You still have your copy of the eval, right?" The boy gulped and nodded. "Hand it over, I'll see what we need to work on."
"Pretty much everything." Hanta muttered under his breath, handing you what he started to call the piece of disappointment.
"That's not true," You hummed as you scanned through his work. "If you got a 69, it means you had some of the concepts down. We just need to tweak a few things."
"That's it, I give up! Why do we even need to know about variables if we're going to become heroes?! Shouldn't they teach this stuff to the support classes instead?" Sero groaned as he failed the same number for the umpteenth time in fifteen minutes.
"It's for more advanced physics. We need to know that for sure, especially for rescues." You explained. "Sero, can you tell me what you have to do when the unknown variable is the denominator in a fraction?"
Sero.exe seems to have stopped functioning.
"U-uh..." He awkwardly rubbed the back of his head, obviously clueless. Man, could he humiliate himself furthermore in front of you? Actually, he doesn't need to know the answer. Nevermind!
"That might've been the problem all along!" You exclaimed, a smile settling on your features. "We might've just fixed your issue with unknown variables!"
"That's it? That's the one thing that made me get a freaking 69%?" He blurted out.
"Well no, but it might be connected!" Ouch, why did that hurt him like it did? He likes you, he really does, but why don't you have a filter over your honesty sometimes? "Now listen well, I'm going to explain it to you and I expect you to be able to know how to correct your mistakes on your test afterwards."
"Oh boy..." He sighed, leaning closer to you as you pulled out a sheet of paper to explain how to proceed. The proximity was enough to drive you crazy if you hadn't made it your personal goal to convert him into a total math pro. As you wrote an equation on the paper, your arm came into contact with his own, practically sending shivers down your spine. Why were you reacting this way to something as normal as physical contact? It was creepy...
Throughout your explanations, he would interrupt you, whether it was only with words or by resting a hand on your arm, notifying you if you had lost him or if there was something he didn't understand. Honestly, the two of you studying together felt so natural, even if it was the first time you were doing it.
