I tapped my foot on the floor impatiently. My foot and leg making a slight clanking noise against the floor.

I was part skeleton and part science. I had always wondered why I was so different from everyone else. My father had taken me away from the town he had grown up in when I was around 6. I saw him on and off but stayed with some of his friends near the humans.

His friends were two werewolves by the names of Samantha and Dave. They were really nice to me and taught me a lot about the humans, but I still missed my dad. "Hey! How's it going, Spark?" Dave asked me with a smile.

"Eh, it's okay." I said. That was only half the truth, I was nervous because in one day, I was to start at a human school! I was so nervous about what all of them would think about me. I really hoped they wouldn't try and dissect me like some crazy science experiment. In the town that my father and I were from, no one was "normal" this idea did not even exist. Everyone had their own beautiful and sometimes hilarious flaws. I was the skeleton, Frankenstein, science experiment freak. The only upside was my father was a king.

"I know that's a lie. You can't lie to a werewolf." Samantha laughed. I shrugged, feeling my stitches in my shoulder loosen. Samantha rolled her eyes. "Here, let me fix it, Spark." She said. I sat up as I felt her readjust my stitches. "Thanks." I said. I had stitches on either sides of my lips, my neck, my shoulders, my wrists, and down where my spine was. The rest of me was pale, blue skin over thick bone. If you looked close enough, you could see my bones move under my skin. And hear them when I moved.

"Fine. Fine. I'm just nervous that I'll make a mistake, scare everyone away. This is my first time going out into the human world by myself." I said quietly. My curly red and white ringlets cupped my face. "It'll be fine!" Samantha tried to reassure me. "And remember, humans are afraid of what they don't understand. You're unique, Spark, and there's no one else like you. Believe me, there isn't" Dave said, putting a soft hand on my shoulder.

"Be careful. I just adjusted her stitches!" Samantha griped. I smiled, stretching my stitches around my mouth slightly. "Oh! Let's go shopping! I can find you the perfect thing to wear for tomorrow!" Samantha cheered. I just shrugged. "Okay. I guess I need a break from all those blacks and whites that my father likes to bring me." I smirked. "That's the spirit, Spark!" I smiled at Samantha.

I ran upstairs and threw on some long sleves and jeans, they fit me really tight, so tightly, Samantha had to get regular jeans and fix them so they would fit me. It was October. Samantha and Dave waited until my father gave them the okay to start me in a human school. He wanted to make sure himself that I was ready.

I ran back downstairs, clumsy as normal, my bones clanking. "Ready to go, Spark?" She asked me with a smile. I nodded, she looked at my stitches around my mouth and frowned. "You'll have to cover those up somehow when you go to school." I sighed, why did I have to fit in? "Okay." I said quietly.

We walked over to her truck and hopped in. My father had brought me to a place called Georgia, a state in the United States. They had been teaching me about what humans normally do ever since I was a little girl. I had gotten used to everything and was shown how to act like a human. "So, ready to find an outfit?" Samantha asked me with a smile.

"Sure!" I said truthfully, smiling back. We reached the mall and i climbed out. It was a simple mall with "Pine's Mall" stretched out in huge, black letters. We walked through the two sets of glass doors and around the Dillard's counter. "Let's go out into the mall." Samantha said. I had only been in a few shops, outside of the mall near our house. There were a few run by werewolves from my father's town.

I was so excited! She lead me out into the middle of the mall. There were two floors of shops, all separated by a big hole in the middle. I smiled while I looked at all of the shops. "Let's go in this one!" Samantha said with a smile. Her blonde hair flicking over her shoulder. You would never know she was a werewolf unless you saw her pointy ears and slightly pointed teeth. She looked normal, other than the fact she was always tan, in contrast to my slightly blue, pale skin. My skin looked pasty, sparkily white most of the time, but in different lighting, it looked blue.

The store had flowers around the name and was called "Sallie's Boutique." I smiled as we walked inside. They had brightly colored clothes everywhere! The woman behind the desk looked up and smiled. "Hello! Welcome to Sallie's Boutique! Wow." She said, glancing at me. That earned a growl from Samantha. "What?" I asked, looking at the clerk.

She diverted her gaze from me. I looked at Samantha, surprised at the clerk's reaction. Samantha walked over to the clerk. "You don't have to be rude." She snarled. The clerk looked up at me, dead in the face. I smiled at her, stretching my stitches. "I...I like your hair." She managed to say before trying to ignore Samantha. "Thanks!" I smiled. A man walked from somewhere in the back of the store up to the counter. "Did I miss a Halloween club meeting or something?" He laughed at me. Samantha was about to attack him.

"Well, yeah. We sure missed you, we couldn't have our club without our ugly, terrible looking and smelling leader." I snapped at him. He froze. He smelled like he had just crawled out of a perfume vat. "What did you just say to me, ugly freak?" I smiled, my stitches tight. "Oh, you heard me. Too bad I'm prettier, I would die having to live with an attitude as rotten as yours." I snarled back. "Let's go." Samantha said, fixing him with eyes as yellow as a lantern.

We left that shop and Samantha set me down on a couch. "Are you okay?" She asked me gently. "Yeah, I'm perfectly fine." I sighed. "I know something that will cheer you up!" She said with a fanged smile. She told me to stay where I was and walked off. I put my head in my hands and stared at the floor. I felt a tap on my shoulder and looked up. A woman stood in front of me, her nametag said "Sallie" from "Sallie's Boutiqe". She had her black hair tied up and her hands behind her back.

"Come to laugh at me?" I asked. She reeled back. "I'm sorry that happened. Look, to make it up to you, I found this dress that would work with your red hair." She said, taking her hands out from behind her back. It was a beautiful, light blue dress with red and green flowers sewn onto it. Samantha reappeared and frowned when she saw the clerk. "Who are you? And why are you harassing my daughter?" She asked with a snarl.

"I am really sorry for what my employee did, he no longer works for me. I have been looking for someone to send this dress home with and I think I found the perfect person." She said with a smile. Her green eyes lit up and I could tell she was not lying. "Who?" I asked. She laughed, "You, silly! It would look pretty with your hair, and I really like your makeup." She said with a smile. I glanced at Samantha and she shrugged.

"Thank you. I accept your apology." I said with a smile. She handed me the dress. "Sorry again. And if it means anything, you have really pretty, dark blue eyes." I smiled at her. "That helps a little.." I laughed. She laughed and walked away. "Well, here's my present for you!" Samantha said with a smile. She handed me a weirdly woven object. It had white beads and yellow sauce on it. It was very soft, almost like bread. "What's this?" I asked. She smiled at me. "You sound like your father. It's a Pretzel, just try it!" She smiled at me. I shrugged, how bad could this be?

I took a bite and smiled. It was a bit sharp in flavor, but tasted like cheese and bread. "This is pretty good." I said. For the rest of the day, we walked around and I didn't care how many stares I got, I just tuned them out. We finally reached a store called "Hot Topic". I smiled as I walked inside the store. There were clerks with bright colors on their skin and brightly colored things hanging from their ears.

I bought a few dresses and shirts, they were really cool. They had fun patterns and cartoons on them. We payed and a few of the clerks commented on my stitches, saying they liked my "makeup". "Well, I think that's all there is to look at." Samantha said with a happy sigh, we had been at the mall for hours! We walked to the car and hopped in, tearing out some of my stitches in my wrist. I sighed as I pulled them tight and tied them in a bow.

"Ready for school tomorrow?" Samantha asked, glancing at me before looking back to the road. "Yeah, I guess." I shrugged. I didn't really want to go if I was just going to be stared at. I'd rather be homeschooled still! "It'll be great. Your first day! We should take pictures to celebrate!" Samantha smiled. "Okay. I just wish..Nevermind." I said, knowing what I was thinking was foolish.

"What? Oh....You miss your dad, don't you?" She asked softly. I shrugged, causing one of my stitches to snag. "Yeah. It's just I don't see him anymore. I understand that he has some business to take care of, but I just wish he could spend time with me." I sighed. This was the first time I had ever opened up to Samantha. "He'll be back, I promise. He has to take care of someo.. some business." She snarled, clenching the steeringwheel. What was that about?

I shrugged it off as we made our way home.
