"Get back!" Alyson said urgently. I fell in behind her as she crept forward. There was a black figure on the wall! Its yellow eyes glanced towards us and it smiled, yellow, mangly, disgusting teeth glared at us. It had no shape to it, just gleaming yellow eyes and teeth.

"Get out of here!" Alyson yelled to me. I started to run and I heard the sound of things being flipped and smashed. "No! I won't stand here and act like a coward!" I said to myself as I ran back inside. There was now a grey creature with glowing blue eyes. It had huge silver wings with claws on the tips and little fish-looking fins on its face. It's face looked like a cartoon wolf, long nose and pointed teeth. It was bulky and muscular, it was also holding a sword-looking object!

It was fighting with the black thing! I ran forward and the black thing came toward me! I picked up the candlestick holder and started swinging at it. It didn't even seem to phase it! I imagined fire on the tips of the candlesticks. There was a mighty roar as my vision came true. I started swinging at the creature and it shrieked, echoing all over the walls. I kept swinging and it started to retreat. "Hey! Get me a container from the basement!" I yelled at the grey creature. It flew off and I kept fighting with the black thing.

It changed shape, with purple electricity buzzing around it, into a panther! It started trying to bite me, but I kept fighting with fire. Finally I saw the grey creature come back and it caught the black thing in the jar. I focused hard on the jar, willing the creature not to escape. It glowed a light blue for an instant, and then orange. A pumpkin seal formed on the front.

I sat back, satisfied as it screeched at me, its mouth biting at the glass. The grey creature had disappeared. "Alyson?" I called, setting the glass jar down on the table. I wandered down into the basement, I could sense the grey creature. "That ugly thing is gone! You can come out now!" I called, my voice echoing all over the walls.

I heard a snarl and jumped. "So, that's what you think I am? Some ugly, rotten animal?" I glanced in the far corner, blue eyes shown from it. "I....no. I was talking about the thing in the jar.." I said quickly. I really was, it was such an ugly, yet facinating creature.

I heard a scraping noise as the grey creature came back into view. It looked at me sadly, with its blue eyes. "Alyson?" I asked carefully. It nodded at me and walked closer. "Actually my name is Adara." She said, her voice low and husky. I nodded, "But can I still call you Alyson?" She smiled at me and nodded.

"So....Do you want to wash all that makeup off of you?" She asked me slowly. I nodded, why not? I ran upstairs and turned on the shower. I quickly washed off and grabbed my towel to dry off my body and hair.

I crept into my room and threw on a long sleeved shirt and jeans. I walked downstairs and saw Alyson lounging on our red couch. Poor Samantha seemed uncapable of matching colors properly, so everything was always mismatched!

"You know you're really tall?" She laughed. I shrugged, it was true, I was obnoxiously tall! I was 6'9! "Yeah. I know. I also have blue skin and can stitch and unstitch myself." I said.

I heard a creek and turned toward the door. In came Samantha. "Oh, hello...what the hell happened in here!?" She asked, more like shrieked.

"I tripped...?" I said, but started to smile at how ridiculous that sounded. "Wait! Spark! Your makeup!" Samantha said, glancing at Alyson who had turned back to normal.

"It's okay. She's a gargoyle from the same place Dad's from." I said quietly. "Yes, hello. I am Alyson or my real name is Adara. The Gargoyle." She bowed to Samantha.

"Hello, Adara. So what happened here?" Samantha asked, concerned, trying to hide her shock. Adara lead Samantha away and I sat there, staring in the glass. The black creature snarled at me.

Samantha and Alyson came walking back in and Samantha tried to hide her concern. I just looked at them, completely confused.

Samantha shook her head and Alyson sat back down on the couch. She stretched out and revealed some wings from her shoulder blades.

I sat in the chair across from her and picked up the glass jar. The creature blinked and started to move its mouth, but was blocked by the jar.
