Every thought that circled my mind was of Matty. I wondered, how someone like him could have any kind of feelings for someone like me...we were nothing alike, and all I'd ever done was give him bullshit since the flight to England. It troubled me, I was tired of thinking about him after only one hour and my mind wouldn't stop. I felt like a bad person, as if I'd led him on and I hadn't...or had I?
"What's up with you?" George chuckled, walking into the kitchen where I sat and waited for the kettle to whistle.
"Nothing, nothing." I flashed him a quick, and false smile...getting up and taking a tea cup from the cabinet. I couldn't possibly tell him about Matty's letter...though if I never came back, who would have found it anyway?
I sighed, setting the cup down on the counter, looking into the blur of my reflection inside of it, "Matty is your best mate, right?" I asked slowly.
"Yeah, 'course. Why?" He asked, opening the refrigerator. I turned to him, seeing only his back, which at the moment I felt more at ease talking to.
In hesitation I waited, you've already caused them to physically fight...if you tell him it will only make it worse.
He turned around, pulling out a jug of juice and setting it on the counter. Just as he turned around the kettle went off, to my rescue. I turned around also, focusing on pouring the boiling water over the teabag lying inside of the cup.
"What is it?" He continued.
"Its nothing, I was just asking to be asking." I lied, setting the kettle back onto the stove.
"Alright..." George furrowed his brow, taking a sip from his cup before returning to the refrigerator.
I turned around, missing him already, knowing I wouldn't see him again for a long time after tomorrow.
"George can you hug me?" I asked.
He looked at me, laughing slightly, "eh, yeah..." He put his cup down, stepping closer to me and taking me into his arms tightly.
"Are you sure everything is okay?" He asked.
"I'm sure." I said, taking in his scent of cologne and cigs, and wrapping my arms around him. He rested his chin at my head, I closed my eyes, with only earlier coming to thought.
"Did you really mean it, when you said you wouldn't mind marrying me?" I asked.
"Yeah. I did." He said.
"I wouldn't mind marrying you either." I said, "as long as you don't take me to anymore of your ex girlfriend's houses."
"I won't." He chuckled.
"Thanks for tonight." I said, releasing him from my hold. He too let go, looking down at me.
"Don't thank me. I'd do anything for you. Even if we're fighting and mad at each other." He said.
"Aww." I smiled.
He rolled his eyes and pushed me away playfully, walking out of the kitchen. I followed close behind him, jumping on his back and wrapping my arms around his neck, kissing all over his cheek and laughing.
"Jude! Don't make everything all mushy." He complained, unable to hide a grin.
"But I love you." I mumbled against his cheek.
He held onto my thighs, carrying me into the bedroom. I kicked the door shut behind us, getting down and lifting my shirt over my head, in attempt to be sexy by pulling it off and tossing it aside...though failing as it got stuck.
I could hear George laughing as I struggled to get it off. He came in closer and helped, pushing it over my head, "way to go, Jude...nice bra though." He smirked.
