The water splashing against my face didn't help at all. There was no denying I was so drunk I could barely keep balance as I leaned over the counter, laughing at my own reflection in the mirror. The bags under my eyes were puffy, as were the black rings from my makeup smearing down. I rubbed it with my ring finger as best I could, though managing little success at making my appearance any better.
As I dried my hands with the bath towels I stared around at the marble floors, realizing how fancy the hotel was designed...reminiscing on the terrible trip to it, hearing Monica giggling in the back of the van accompanied by Matty's chuckles as they played hanky-panky to the best of my guess. I sighed, walking away from the towel and turning back around as I could hear it fall to the floor.
The efforts to pick it up would be beyond what I felt like and therefor I left it where it was, opening the door and seeing George fiddling with a record player in the corner of the room.
"Hey, look what they have." He held it up, to my surprise it was The Blue album from The Beatles on vinyl. I smiled and walked over, kneeling down beside him. I laughed quietly as I watched his attempts to get it going fail. I took over, starting the disc and closing my eyes to the sound of Strawberry Fields Forever as it soon tuned in.
I opened my eyes to see a smile across his face, I stood up, holding onto the bed pole for support. I could feel his hand against the small of my back, I turned around quickly and just as he let go.
"Sorry, I was just making sure you didn't fall." He looked at me.
I nodded, as I began to pace the room, unsure of what to do and unable to remain still, I had to keep busy. "Thank you."
"Do you wanna smoke or something?" He asked.
Just at the question I was unable to remove the grin which came across my face, I knew I must have looked like an idiot. I shook my head, slowly, "I don't feel like being cross faded tonight." I said.
He nodded, laughing at my remark, "alright..."
I watched him as he took out the supply, "I'd like more drinks though if you're gonna get high now."
He nodded, tossing me the room service menu. I caught it, staring at it and back at him, "I'll pay for everything I order, promise."
"Its on me." He said.
"Oh wow, mister big shot now, eh." I teased, sitting down beside him and raising a brow.
He looked over at me, grabbing his lighter, "fine you pay now." He smirked before inhaling the smoke and holding it in his mouth.
I grabbed the phone, glaring at him as I made the call, with a smile unable to fade. As I requested the champagne I figured I'd add on a couple of snacks for George, also asking for cookies. I hung up the phone and turned to him as he chuckled.
"What?" I got up, taking off my shoes and getting comfortable.
"Champagne? Who's the big shot now?" He said as he let the smoke escape his lips, hazing around his face so I could no longer see his tight red eyes.
I grabbed a pillow from the chair, throwing it at him, "shut up."
He reached over the bed quickly and grabbed the pillow, throwing it back at me. I ducked, sending the pillow behind me and straight at the wall. To my surprise, he had enough strength even while hazing his brain to get up and run for it, racing me to it. I grabbed him by the back of his collar, the both of us falling to the floor.
"Cheat," he looked down at me, making a face. The face he used to make at me all the time when we'd played any game and he lost...sending nostalgia through my senses.
