Can You Just Leave?

I look at Ryan and Graham in the doorway and have to heavily resist myself from slamming the door in their faces.

I then stop and frown at what I've just thought about doing. They're my friends, what the hell?

Why am I acting like this?

"So Yaz, I see your nose is better." Ryan says, standing above me from the purple beanbag.

Why did you have to come back now? I was having such a great time with The Doctor. I don't want to share her.

I gasp, how can I be thinking these horrible things? The Doctor isn't mine. All three of us are her friends, not just me.

I need to leave. I need to get the heck out of here.

Biting my tongue, I bolt up from the beanbag and brisk walk to where I know the rooms are.

"Yaz?" The Doctor calls after me but I don't stop to look back, I just keep going.

"Bye Doc, see you tomorrow!" I hear Graham and Ryan leave from my room down the corridor and bury my head in my pillow.

Thank god they're gone.

I take a sharp intake of breath. Why the hell am I acting this way towards Graham and Ryan?

Almost hostile.

What the hell provoked it?

I throw my duvet over face, fold myself tightly into a ball and clench my eyes and teeth in utter fustration.

I need to calm down. I need to just stop. She's not mine. She's not anyone's. She's her own person.

I hear muffled sounds from under my duvet, sounds of footsteps.

Footsteps very near.

"Yaz?" I hear a dulled knock on my door. "May I come in?" The Doctor asks politely.

From under my heavy duvet, I tell her she can. A short click signifies that the door has been closed and I then feel a slight pressure, meaning that The Doctor is sitting on my bed.

The Doctor is on my bed.

She's in my room.

"Why are you in here?" The Doctor asks from outside.

I'm starting to get really hot in here, sooner or later I'm going to have to come out and face her.

"I just don't understand why you left when Ryan and Graham came, I thought you liked them."

Yeah Yaz. Why did you leave? Do you have something against Ryan and Graham?

I don't respond and, just when I think The Doctor is about to give up and leave, a bit of cold air hits my face.

The duvet is lifted off me slightly and I see The Doctor begin to crawl into the bed.

"Well, isn't this exciting?" She says, looking down at me from where she's sitting. I lay down in the bed, still with my knees tucked right up to my chin and my eyes shut tight.

I'm too ashamed to look at her.

What if she has some super alien power that I don't know about and ends up reading my mind?
