After the incident in my room, The Doctor and I haven't talked. We've mostly just been too engrossed in what we've been doing to find time to talk to each other.
"Yaz, are you listening to me?" My mum waves her hand in front of my face and I blink rapidly, realising that I heard nothing that she said.
"Sorry, I was thinking." I say, being unable to come up with a better excuse.
Mum sighs and rolls her eyes at me.
"I was saying that there's a wedding coming up, you could invite your friends and The Doctor."
I roll my eyes at my mum. "The Doctor is my friend too Mum." At hearing this, my mum scoffs and looks at me with a pointed gaze.
She's been like this ever since the spider incident, which didn't go down to well.
She still wants answers, not being entirely satisfied with the 'She's just my friend' answer.
However, that's all I can really give her at this moment. I don't know who or what The Doctor is to me, not yet anyway.
Suddenly, out of the silence, my phone rings, its loud tone making my mum and I jump in surprise.
I quickly retrieve it from my pocket and answer without looking at the number.
"Hello?" I say. On the other line, I hear a faint voice and muffled noises.
"How does this work?"
"Nope, wrong button."
"Wait... Nope, not that one either."
"Is that it?"
The voice then becomes much clearer and the noises stop. Only then do I recognise the voice as The Doctor's.
"Oh, yay, got it to work!"
I smile at the sound of The Doctor's voice but suddenly remember that I'm still at the table with my mum across from me.
"One second Doctor." Glancing at my mum, I gesture towards my bedroom door, get up and leave.
Shutting my door with a click, I flop onto my bed while a smile emerges on my face.
"What's up?" I ask The Doctor beaming widely.
I hear The Doctor's footsteps, familiar sounds in the background.
"Sorry for asking Doctor but where are you right now?" My brow creases in confusion, I've heard those sounds before.
Wait.
I walk into the kitchen and down the hall, passing Sonya's bedroom when, suddenly, my phone echoes my question.
You can't be serious.
Shaking my head with a wide grin on my face, I fling open my front door.
This woman will be the death of me one day.
The Doctor stands before me, a big smile on her face with her blonde hair glittering in the light of the landing.
"Ryan and Graham are in the Tardis waiting, let's go!"
I don't even have time to call out a goodbye to my mum before The Doctor grabs my hand and yanks me out the door, leaving Planet Earth behind.
☆AUTHOR'S NOTE☆
As you all can probably guess, this is a filler chapter. Mostly because school and personal issues have really been affecting my ability to write so I haven't tried to. Just know that I'm TRYING to update and post regularly. 😊
