I woke up to my head throbbing. I brought my hand to my head. My throat felt sore and I was cold. I opened my eyes and I wasn't in my bed. I sat up and looked around the room and it was bigger than my room. A view of the ocean. A queen size bed. I scanned the room and saw Miguel sitting on the couch in here.
His eyes were on me. I started back at him and memories of last night hit me hard. My heart pounded. "Where am I?" I asked. He continued to look at me.
"My house." He said. I licked my dry lips. "In my room." He said. I looked around for a second and meet his eyes again. "You passed out and I couldn't leave you on the beach." He said.
"Thanks," I said. He sat up. "For saving my life," I said. He closed his eyes for a second.
"Aria I don't expect you to be quiet about what you saw." He said.
"I will," I said. His eyes opened up.
"I don't trust you to keep quiet about what you saw." He said. I rolled my eyes.
"Well I said will," I said.
"Drink some water." He said nodding to the side table where a glass of water was. I grabbed it and sipped it. I looked down noticing I was still in my wet clothes.
"I got your bed soaked," I said. He scuffs.
"It's fine." He said. He stood up and grabbed out a t-shirt and some basketball shorts. "Put these on and I'll change the bedding." He said. I stood up.
"I have to get home," I said. He sighed.
"Rico message Gale already. You are staying here tonight whether you like it or not." He said.
"I don't want too," I said. He rolls his eyes.
"Like I said I don't trust you." He said.
"You killed someone. Does that even affect you? At all? You took someone's life." I said.
"Yeah, I know what I did. I do it all the time. And in case it forgot to cross your mind it was in self-defense." He said. My blood went cold.
"Omg, you are just as dangerous as Gale said. The roomers are true." I said.
"Just get changed." He said. I shook my head.
"I'm leaving," I said.
"I have other ways of getting these clothes on you." He said. I started into his eyes. He didn't seem affected by the situation.
"Fine, where's your bathroom?" I asked.
"No, you change out here." He said.
"Where's your bathroom?" I asked again. He let out a breath of air and pointed to a door in the room. I walked in there and quickly stripped out of everything and slipped his clothes on. I walked out and he takes them from me. "Where's my phone?" I asked.
"In my pocket." He said.
"Can I have it?" I asked.
"Nope. As long as it's working it stays with me until I figure out what to do with you." He said.
"It was in my pocket when I went under water it doesn't work." I lied.
"Nice try but your sister called your phone while you were out." He said. I scuffed. "And your case is waterproof." He said. I rolled my eyes.
"You might as well kill me because this is pointless," I said sitting on the couch.
"Yeah, so your father can send his guys after me? No thanks." He said. I looked up at him.
