Aria's P.O.V

I sigh while sitting down on the rock. I watched the waves as the song 'God gave me you' came on. A tap on my shoulder brought my attention up to the person. I took out a headphone.

"Hey, Aria." He said. I swallowed the lump in my throat as I noticed right past him near the bushes was Miguel.

"Hey, Oscar," I said standing up.

"What's wrong? You look like you saw a ghost." He said.

"No, um I just realized I'm late for a party," I said walking past him. I didn't wait for him to respond I walked over to the bushes where Miguel just disappeared. As soon as I made it out of them I was being pinned to a tree.

"Hello, Aria," Miguel said. The way my name rolled off his tongue made my insides burn.

"Hi, Miguel," I said.

"You followed me? Again." He said.

"Why were you at the mall earlier today?" I asked. He looked skeptical. "My sister has a big mouth for the most part. She thought we were dating." I said with an eye roll.

"So it wasn't you?" He asked.

"No," I said quietly.

"You have a twin sister?" He said. I nod. "Who has a different laugh then you?" He said.

"Why is that the only thing you notice?" I asked.

"It's not." He said. His face was so close.

"Can I get my back off this tree? It's starting to hurt." I said. He then turned us around. "Not really want I meant," I said. He smirked.

"Are you ok?" He asked.

"Why wouldn't I be?" I asked.

"You were distant from everyone. Walked to the beach to yourself? I hope that has nothing to do with what you saw." He said. I looked to the side.

"I'm gonna be late for a party," I said. He used his hands to make me look at him.

"Tell me. Was it?" He asked.

"Watching you kill someone wasn't the scariest thing I've seen. If that's what you were asking." I said. He looked surprised. "Can you let go of me?" I asked. He drooped his hands that were on my waist.

"I'm sorry." He said.

"I gotta go," I said turning around. "I didn't talk to Oscar if that's why you were watching me. I said I needed to leave." I said turning to look at him.

"He's dangerous." He said.

"I should probably listen this time huh? Cause I didn't listen last time." I said. He nodded. "If he's so dangerous then how come you don't just get rid of him?" I asked.

"It's hard to explain." He said. I nod.

"And you're not gonna try are you?" I asked. He stayed quiet. "Thought so," I said. I turned back around and walked home. As soon as I got home Violet rushed me into my room to put on my bathing suit.

It was a two-piece black bathing suit. It cupped my breast perfectly. The bottoms had two 3-inch stings that went high on my hips to cross over each other and went to the back.

I sighed looking down at a scar on my stomach. I slid on some shorts and put a loose tank top over the bathing suit. I put my hair in a messy bun and slipped on my flip flops.

"Gale I don't want to change," Violet said as I walked down the steps. She didn't even try to cover her bathing suit. It was a hot pink color that was also a two piece. I saw her place her hand on her hips.

"Why not?" He said.

"Because it's a pool party. You wear a swimsuit inside the pool. Why do I have to change?" She asked?

"Just put on some shorts and a tank top," I said. She looks at me.

"Why?" She asked.

"Because your boobs are just out there Vie," I said. She giggles.

"I know. That's why I wore this suit." She said walking past me. I shake my head. Gale watched her leave.

"You two are unbelievable," I said. He folds his arms.

"I saw you talking to Miguel today. Well, it more looked like you two were kissing while you were pinned to the tree." He said. I scuff.

"We were talking," I said. He rolled his eyes.

"Didn't look like talking." He said.

"It was just- you see Miguel and me were- he just- you don't get to judge me. Your crush doesn't even know you like her." I said crossing my arms.

"Who's his crush?" Violet asked walking down the steps. I looked at her and back at Gale.

"A girl from our school. Sees new." I said. She gave me a weird look.

"Do I know her?" She asked.

"Probably," I said. She opened her mouth. "I talked to Miguel today," I said changing the subject. She perked up with a smile.

"What about?" She asked.

"You," I said. She frowns.

"I swear I wasn't trying to steal your mans. I can't help being the hotter twin." She said. I rolled my eyes.

"He didn't know I had a twin," I said.

"Oh yeah, that was weird. I figured if you two were dating you'd mention me. You know because having a twin is so cool." She said sitting on the couch.

"We aren't dating," I said.

"Making out? On a tree?" Gale said.

"We weren't making- I'm starting this again," I said walking into the kitchen.

"Well, you should invite him to the party," Violet said. I glare at her.

"Not gonna happen," I said.

"I invited him to the party." She said. My mouth fell.

"You did what?" I asked. She shrugged her shoulders.

"You are obviously in denial so I gave you a push. Your welcome." She said.

"I didn't need a push. And I'm not in denial. He's just some guy who happens to pop up once in a while." I said. Gale and her look at each other.

"She's in denial." They said at the same time. I rolled my eyes.

"I hate you both," I said.
