Miguel's P.O.V
I wake up and smile as Aria rolls over to her side. I carefully get up and walk out of her room and walked downstairs. I make my way into the kitchen as Gale throws some pancakes on a plate. He looks up at me.
"You weren't here last night." He said. I sat down on the island stool.
"Aria called me after she had a nightmare," I said wiping my face.
"Oh." He said. I took a deep breath. "Is she ok?" He asked.
"Yeah, she is," I said. He nods.
"Are you?" He asked.
"She told me a little bit about her mother," I said. He looked shocked.
"She did?" He asked. I nod.
"I was gonna make her some coffee," I said. He hands me a cup.
"I always have some ready for her." He said. I nod. "Take some pancakes to her." He said putting a plate of them in front of me.
"Thank you," I said.
"Aria has been through a lot. She really likes you. Please don't hurt her. She's my sister and it hurts me when she's hurting." He said.
"I won't," I said.
"I get that you want to stay away from her to protect her but sometimes that not what people need. You are the first person she's ever told about her mother. Don't take her for granted." He said.
"Thanks, man," I said. He nods.
"No problem." He said. I grabbed the plate and the cup of coffee and walk upstairs. I open the door quietly and set them on the table next to her. I get back under the blankets just in time for her to turn and wrap her arm around my waist. I smile.
"You're staring." She said. Her beautiful green eyes opened up.
"I'm observing," I said. She smiles. I bend down and place a kiss to her lips. "Happy birthday," I said kissing her again. She smiles.
"You remembered?" She asked.
"Of course," I said.
"It smells like scrumptious pancakes." She said. I chuckle.
"On the nightstand is coffee and scrumptious pancakes," I said. She smiles and sits up.
"Thank you." She said while shoving a pancake in her mouth.
"Your welcome," I said leaning back. She turns her body so she was facing me. She lifts up the fork with a pancake on it and brings it to my mouth. I open up and she drops it in my mouth. I let the sugar surround my taste buds and swallow it. She giggles.
"It's good." She said. I nod in agreement.
"You're so beautiful," I said. She tucks her hair behind her ear and sets the plate on the bed. I grabbed her body and pull her on top of me so she was straddling me.
"I sometimes I forget you are just a college kid." She said. I smile. She clears her throat and opens her mouth to say something.
"We don't have to talk about it if you don't want too," I said. She smiles.
"It's funny. I never thought I'd be able to tell anyone about her." She said. I wrap my arms around her waist.
"Well, you did," I said. She nods. "How do you feel about that?" I asked. She lets out a long sigh.
"Scared." She said.
"Of what?" I asked.
"That once you find out everything you will leave." She said looking into my eyes.
