So I like to consider myself a actor. Yes I've been in only one big play but still. I have nothing to write about. But auditions, were you show that you can speak good and get to be judged about everything. But according to someone, you don't get more auditions that you actually get. Which I doubt is true. I personally seem to suck at auditions. I suddenly can't speak and I can't breathe. Its real fun. Apparently every audition is different. Like I've been to one were you had to schedule your time then be in a separate room you'd be judged. In other cases you just walk in and they judge hand you a scene then read with other people. In special cases you enter sign in then wait for hours just to go on stage and read two or three lines then leave just to not get a part. I feel like so many theaters are bias on who they pick. Like " You look and seem like you could be useful" Then give you a part just because. Then if you don't sport that look you don't get anything. Its really stupid. And oh my god, theatere kids. I know this is hypocritical but wow just wow. They are special snowflakes. Half the time you don't know if there flirting or just being nice. It's like a gay reference paradise hell. But other than that they are all amazing. Costumes for a show can range from making sense to long sleeves in late summer causing half the cast to have heat strokes on stage. But in all reality if you like acting but have never tried, do it. At first you may feel uneasy but it really helps with speaking. As someone who has only ever gotten a background role, almost every play needs people in the background. For fucks sake I was a village that ate delicious bread. At first you won't get many parts but eventually you will.
