"What are you all smiley about?" Jonah asks curiously.

"Uhh..." I say as I try to think of an excuse other than what actually happened. Nothing came to mind so I just decided to tell him what happened.

"So... I umm, met this guy at the store today,"

"What guy? Who do I need to fight?" Jonah says overprotectively.

"No no, it's just some guy named Travis that I thought was very sweet. He probably already has a girlfriend anyways." I say with guilt.

"Good," he says a little harshly.

I was taken aback at how Jonah had just spoken to me. I was a little shocked that me made a bitchy comment like that. I run to my room and just cry, spreading my tears across one of my pillows. A few minutes later, I hear a knock on my bedroom door.

"Who is it?" I ask, trying to sound normal.

"Jonah... can I come in?" He says.

I stay silent. I didn't want him to come in but i didn't want to tell him to go away.

"Jasmine?" He says once again.

"Uh, sure."

He walks in the door, and immediately rushes to my bed when he sees me in tears.

"What's wrong Jasmine?" He asks concerningly.

I decide to be up front with Jonah. It didn't feel right to hide anything from him.

"Did you just hear yourself a few minutes ago, Jonah?" I ask. "It was a little harsh to say. You ruined the good mood I was in. It felt nice to tell you about a guy I've been talking to, and that happiness goes away when you seem to hate someone you don't even know."

"That's actually what I came in here to talk to you about," Jonah starts to say. "Listen, Jasmine, I'm sorry for being harsh earlier. I get overprotective when it comes to my loved ones. When I was with your mom, she had mixed feelings between me and Zach. I was scared for her feeling that way for Zach because I knew she was gonna get hurt. And that's exactly what happened to her. I don't want this boy to hurt you."

"Being hurt is a part of life, Jonah. It's a lesson," I say. "But Travis seems like a really amazing guy. He doesn't seem like he wants to hurt me whatsoever."

"I understand. I just want you to be careful," Jonah repeats. "And I promise to try and not be so overbearing, and let you have your privacy like you want okay?" Jonah says reassuringly.

"Thank you so much Jonah." I say as I approach Jonah with a hug. After we hug, Jonah walks out of my room and into his room.

Travis
Hey Jasmine, how are you?

Jasmine
Hey, i'm okay. I actually
have a question to ask you?

Travis
Ask away

Jasmine
Do you have a girlfriend?
I know it's a weird question
but i'm just curious

Travis
Umm i do not.. Do you
have a boyfriend?

Jasmine
Unfortunately I do not

Travis
It's not unfortunate. Maybe
that can be changed someday...

Maybe that can be changed someday?!?!?! What the hell is that supposed to mean?? After Jonah and I's talk today, I'm slightly scared to even have a boyfriend! And it made me a little nervous about my first date on Friday.

I would really hope Jonah would love Travis and approve of him, even thought him and I aren't dating. I haven't had any guy make me feel special. Well, that is, any guy that is my age.

Hopefully Travis and I can continue to hang out and talk to each other after our date in a couple of days.
