"You told him, didn't you?" I growled, sharpening my voice with anger plastered on my face. I pulled Ponyboy to the front of the house, standing on the cement walkway barefoot where the cold cement sent shivers through my body. I stood in front
of the gate facing him. He shoved his hands in his pocket, rolling his eyes as his shoulders slouched with his head hanging low. He was simply ignoring my question.

"Answer me." I said, waiting for an answer.
I looked at him once more as he was looking at something that caught his attention in the distance.
I could tell immediately that he didn't want say anything. I tried grabbing at his wrist, but he quickly pulled away as he looked at me.

"Damnit Bex, leave me out of it!" He yelled. "I cant stand being involved in this mess. You're the one who made Dally go to jail because of this. This is all
your fault. Don't come onto me about it. I didn't say nothing!"

I was shocked what came out of my brothers
mouth, I never heard him bust in such an outrage, but yet I was pissed. I felt my fists clench
shut to where I could feel my nails digging into
the palm of my hand, my knuckles turning a
pale white. I stared right into his greenish - gray
eyes as I looked at him with every expression it
could give. I could hear Darry calling the both of us to come back inside because it was starting to get cold outside now that the sun was going down. but I ignored my older brother, keeping my eyes on Pony.

My fists started to become painful by each minute I dug my nails deeper into my skin with the amount of force I could give. Out of nowhere, I pushed him with all the force I had, which knocked him straight
onto the ground. He was taken aback, catching
himself on the cement walkway with his hands
as he stared straight up at me. Before I could
do anything, he quickly threw himself up onto
his feet and pushed me to the ground as he came
straight onto me, pushing my back against the grass.

He grabbed my shirt and looked at me.

"What the hell do you think you're doing? You're
acting like a maniac!" He said as he gasped out
of breath, turning his head to see Darry walking towards us with Sodapop and Steve trailing behind him.

"Get off of me!" I yelled as I tried pushing him off,
but Darry pulled Ponyboy off of me as Sodapop
helped me back up onto my feet.

"You both need to cut it the hell out. What the hell has gotten into you two lately?" Darry said in a
raucous voice, flicking his eyes madly between
the both of us. "This is getting out of hand, we
need to get to the bottom of this right now."

"I dont want to be involved," Ponyboy said with
no emotion whatsoever. "I've had just about had it."

He glanced at me one last time before walking
back into the house, slamming the screen door
behind him on the way in. I swallowed as my
smirk started to turn into a frown, looking to
see that Johnny walked inside along with him.
There best buddies, I don't think they could ever
survive without one another. There so attached
that I always believe that they keep each other
alive, and that's the truth.

Silence started to fill the air once again. I looked
over at Darry who seemed to look at me in disappointment. It's hard to talk to someone who
you're rarely ever close to. I could never talk to
Darry about stuff, only Dallas and Sodapop.

Darry kept glancing around as if he was trying to
think of what to say. Before he walked back into
the house leaving only me and Sodapop outside,
he looked at me with no expression as if he was being serious.

"You're grounded." Was all he said before turning
his back on me and walking back inside.

Somehow, I could feel my heart being shattered
into a million pieces. I always tried to hide what
I'm feeling, but this time it really showed. Heck
even Sodapop noticed, it's like he could see through people like an open book sometimes. My shoulders started to slouch even more as I tried to process what exactly just happened.
