What are these flashbacks? Why do I keep having them? Something about that girl seems so familiar...who is she? Where is she? Why do I want to see her?

My name is Dixon Rivers. I'm 20 years old, and I'm half dark angel. I was outcast from my original family because I wasn't a normal angel like them. Luckily, I found a new family pretty quickly, when Marisa, the goddess of outcasts, found me taking shelter in a bush. She took me back to her house and took care of me, allowing me to call her my new mom.

My new mom also later adopted two little girls--Evelyn Brown and Jade Rivers. Evelyn was taken to our house by her old mom who was giving her up after deciding she didn't like her, and Jade was brought to us after she escaped an abusive orphanage. So, now I had two little sisters to look after. I loved them, and they loved me, but they make me worry sometimes...especially Evelyn; she's such a hyperactive little girl that it can be hard to keep an eye on her.

However, my flashbacks never went away. I wondered what they were about. I tried asking Mom about them, but she didn't know what to tell me. I didn't know if I would ever find out.

Then, one day while I was taking a walk in town, I saw a pure white cat with blue eyes. She had white wings and a sparkling halo. She was clearly a light angel, and as soon as I saw her, I had a sudden flashback to a moment in my childhood.

~Flashback~

A young Dixon was running around with a young light angel and both were laughing and having a good time. The young light angel turned to look at Dixon, while laughing: "I bet you can't catch me!".

Dixon kept running after her. "I bet I can!"

The two angels kept running after each other until an older angel approached them and spoke in a stern voice. "Valerie, it's time to go home. I don't want to see you playing with that...boy...anymore."

The light angel sighed. "Okay, Mother." She then followed the older angel back to their home, leaving Dixon all alone.

I gasped after seeing the flashback. Was it possible that the light angel I just saw was the same girl from the vision? Was her name Valerie?

I tried to approach her, but she didn't seem to see me, and just walked away. I stood there watching her sadly until a small gray kitten ran to me and jumped on my back.

"Hi Dixon!!" she cheered.

"Hi Evelyn..." I smiled weakly.

"What's wrong big bro?" Evelyn asked me.

"Well..." I sighed. "I guess I'm just dealing with some...personal problems..."

"Oh. Well, I'm gonna go run now! Bye!" Evelyn smiled, getting off my back and running away. "Wheee!!"

I couldn't help but smile. Evelyn always managed to put a smile on my face, even in tough situations like this. I really did love her, even if she didn't always do the right things. She was still a kid and had a lot to learn, so I couldn't blame her too hard.

My thoughts immediately went back to that girl, however. I didn't know what it was, but something about her felt very familiar...
