~2:49 PM - ??? - Valerie's perspective~
I carried Dixon all the way to a secret place in the woods and set him down on a small pawmade bed to start working on him. I was determined to save my brother. I had promised him that I would save him, and save him I would. I grabbed a first-aid kit from the corner of the secret room, took out the bandage roll, and started covering Dixon's knife wound with the bandage. The stab had caused Dixon to lose quite a bit of blood, so I went to work restoring the lost amount right away, using a spell I had learned during a training session a few years ago. Once I had finished, Dixon started to wake up. He was very weak and couldn't really move, but the good news was that he was alive. It had been a close call, but I had fulfilled my promise. I had saved him.
"Dixon..." I smiled at him. "I did it. I saved you, just like I said I would."
"Th-Thank you, Valerie...I-I don't know where I would be if it wasn't for you..." Dixon replied weakly.
"Well, you certainly wouldn't be awake right now!" I laughed.
"I guess that's true..." Dixon laughed along with me. "What about everyone else? What about Evelyn?"
"They were very upset..." I began. "Evelyn was crying when I first took you away from the house."
"Can you bring her here? I need to see her..." Dixon begged me. "She needs to know that I'm gonna be okay..."
"I'll go get her." I promised. "I'll be right back."
An hour later I came back with Evelyn, who was still justifiably anxious to know if her brother would be okay. I brought her inside and her eyes lit up when she saw Dixon resting on the bed.
"Big bro! You're alive!" she screamed, running to the bed to hug Dixon. She burst into tears of joy as Dixon weakly wrapped his arms around her. "I thought you were gone..."
"I'm not gone, Evelyn...I'm still here..." Dixon told her.
Evelyn backed up and looked at Dixon, who gently wiped her tears away. "I love you, big bro..."
"I love you too, sis."
I smiled as I watched the two of them bonding. They were obviously very close, and watching them together was heartwarming. Evelyn looked at me to thank me for saving Dixon, then asked me an important question.
"So, since you're Dixon's sister...can I call you sis?" Evelyn asked me.
"Of course!" I told her.
"Okay, sis!" Evelyn giggled.
