Makena let out a sigh as she sat in the confession booth at St. Anne's church. The darkness loomed over her like a ghostly presence which sent a shiver through her body. She waited silently as Father Kieron took a seat on the other side.
"I should never have come back here" Kenna began looking down at her nails which had been picked as a recent habit, "I was doing good in New York, I had a brand new life and nobody knew what I was."
Father Kieron sighed facing slightly towards the screen dividing them, "why did you come back Kenna, I thought you went to reinvent yourself"
Kenna leaned her head back looking up towards the ceiling, "I don't remember you being so judgmental Father Kieron" she smirked slightly as she closed her eyes.
"I remember you bunking church" He spoke softly, "are you even catholic anymore?"
Truth be told he had known Makena George since she the day she was left on her fathers doorstep. Claudio was horrified by his abomination of a daughter and brought her to the church seeking help.
"I called upon God so many times through out my childhood, I felt like a freak... of course he never answered" Kenna confessed, "I can't say for certain that I believe in anything like a God. But, I need absolution from someone. Anyone. So, will you hear my confession?" Her words became harsh and almost desperate.
Father Kieron nodded waiting for Kenna to begin.
"Bless me Father, for I have sinned. There's these horrible thoughts burdening me. I have conspired against my own kind and I doubt even God could save me from the ancestors now." Kenna rambled, "I know the witches seek to kill the child of Niklaus Mikaelson, they will come for my help soon and I can't." She let out a shaky breath.
Kenna knew the witches will come for her when it comes to killing the miracle baby, they needed her help in order to succeed. She was the only witch close enough to Klaus.
"And why not" Kieron asked, obviously not agreeing with the witches but to snap Kenna out of her train of thought.
"Well, how could I? That is exactly what my mother fought for... and died for to save me, an abomination" Kenna snapped, "and I think I have feelings for uh... Klaus Mikaelson" she spoke screwing her eyes shut, she hadn't admitted it out loud until now.
"Oh Kenna..." Kieron sighed shaking his head.
"I know, I know... trust me I have tried so hard not to think about him, he tried to kill me but-" Kenna stopped suddenly, she couldn't explain the feelings that controlled her body and mind.
"You can't control who you love, look at your mother and father" he said leaning closer to the screen.
"Nobody knows Kieron" Kenna whispered, "a wolf helped me the other day, I've been thinking about it ever since, do you think they... know?"
"Your mother was well known among the wolves Kenna, she was an alpha." He reminded her.
"I can't tell anyone!" Kenna cried, "I am the outcome of a love affair that should've never happened"
She looked down at her hands, they were trembling. She had to confess one day, people will find out soon enough.
"But you are part witch part werewolf Kenna there's no escaping it, have you...triggered the curse" he pleaded with her, he prayed and prayed that she would say no, tell him he was being ridiculous but when he doesn't respond his question was answered.
"Blessed with beauty and rage" she scoffs, her face fell in realisation it would be full moon in the near future, why did she have to kill that stupid witch she thought silently to herself.
She got up suddenly leaving the church, her pace quickened as she walked through the quarter. Her mind was in a complete frenzy, she didn't even noticed the tall man walking towards her until they collided.
"What the fuck man?" Kenna glared, her eyes unintentionally turning a shade of yellow.
"Watch your temper Kenna your gonna get yourself caught." The man smirked pulling her up from the ground, Kenna recognised the dark haired man. She quickly blinked her eyes a couple of times so they turned to their original shade of hazel brown.
"Who are you and how do you know me?" She maintained her hard glare brushing the dirt off her knees.
"Makena George, part witch part wolf... but by your reaction I'm guessing nobody here knows that but me huh?" He rose an eyebrow at the girl, "my names Tyler Lockwood, I was just passing through after hearing about the miracle baby"
"You!" Kenna clutches his shirt in his fist, "I had a vision about you, you're the one who kidnapped Hayley."
"That's common knowledge now Makena, does Klaus know his little witch is a hybrid?" Tyler questions pulling Kenna's hand off his shirt.
"You wouldn't" she growled through gritted teeth pulling her hand away slowly.
"You're right I wouldn't because I'm not like Klaus" he looked at Kenna seeing her annoyed expression.
"I'm sure Klaus told you to skip town, so you best get going. If he sees you he won't hesitate to kill you" she sighed looking around the crowded streets.
"I think it's best we have a little chat before I go, full moons coming soon and you're gonna need my help. There's not many wolves left around here and it's not like you can tell Klaus and Hayley what you are" Tyler rose an eyebrow leaving Kenna in defeat, she slowly nodded following him to his car.
"How did you know I was a hybrid, is it that obvious" Kenna questioned the hybrid folding her arms before leaning back in the passenger seat.
"No, I heard that Marcel guy talking about you and did my own little research. And low and behold there you was the magical hybrid" he says dramatically, "Your pack, the ones who are stuck under a curse they're following and protecting you because you're their hope" he rolled his eyes pulling up alongside the forest.
"You think the witches would tell me of all people how to break the curse? Give me a break, I can't save them" Kenna scoffed looking out the window, "look Tyler the only reason I'm even in this car with you right now is because I'm desperate and need your help so are you going to help me or not?" She furrowed her eyebrows in irritation.
"I can help you, but one thing first" He spoke calmly holding up a finger, "your mother Dayna was an alpha werewolf not a witch... so how has she been contacting you"
Kenna couldn't understand why she was trusting this traitorous bastard after what he did to Hayley or how he knows so much about her but she was so desperate for his help and if that meant telling him a few useless secrets so he would help her then so be it.
"She died after giving birth to me and from what I understand her soul is trapped with me. Once I triggered the curse I began hearing her, she whispers to me and helps me, it's kinda creepy to be honest" she explained to Tyler who listened intently, "story time over Tyler are you gonna sit there like a freak or help me?"
Kenna's face screwed up at the hybrid who simply rolled his eyes in response, "first we need to sort out that attitude of yours"
