The alarm rang as quick as I went to sleep.
"OK the real first day." I said moving hair out of my face.
Once again I repeated the process of yesterday, besides nearly dying from soap. To my surprise, I finished getting dressed 30 minutes early.
Everyone else in the house was sleep, which was weird (for mom). I went downstairs to the kitchen, black stilettos clacking all the way.
I sat at our little four seated dinning table and watched the cat clock tick. Considering I didn't have a car, and the school started early, I would have to catch the 5:00 bus.
I watched the eyes and tail on the plastic machine move side to side on the yellow kitchen wall. "Tick tock tick tock." I said.
Time seemed to move slowest today. Eric Eric. My head seemed to scream as I sat. Shut the fuck up, Shut the fuck up. I screamed back. To tell the truth, that really was the only reason I was watching the clock. To avoid thinking of Eric. Finally interrupting my trail of thoughts, someone came down.
"Sweetie, are you eating yet?" I heard mom's voice softly say from around the corner.
"I'll eat at school." I said, "Besides I'm leaving in like 5 minutes."
"Alex there's no breakfast on the first day."
My stomach got hungrier than it was. Why would I forget that. I was skinny, but if I went longer than 4 hours without food I would kill myself. Or someone else.
"Thanks for reminding me mom." I said sarcastically.
I only had 5 minutes to walk to the bus stop, but fortunately for me it was right outside my house nearly. Just straight across the street and half a block down.
"I think there's some pop tarts on the counter behind the microwave." She said.
I quickly walked over and and pulled out the pop tart box. Strawberry unfrosted pop tarts.
"I hate this kind." I said, with mom finally in the kitchen.
Double tied her pink robe. "Well eat that and go to the bus, or miss the first day because I'm tired."
I angrily pulled out a single pack. "Uggh!" I said. I walked towards the front door taking a small deadly bite of the poisonous treat.
"Have a great day at school Alex honey." Mom said. You could hear a little grief in her voice from yesterday, "Love you."
"Love you too." I said walking out the door. The cool morning air hit my exposed legs. I had on slightly short jean shorts with a beige sweater that fitted loose. I through my Hello Kitty backpack over my shoulder.
There was like three other kids that caught the bus with me at the stop. Plus two adults. They were all waiting, except Reign. She was always late.
"Hey Alexia." John said.
"Hey John." I said fully standing on the corner.
John was a senior at my school. And ever since I started 9th grade, he was the main person that flirted with me. Around 6"4 broad shoulders, blue eyes blonde hair. Quite a catch. Just not my type.
"So you still don't have a car?" He said.
"I would ask you the same thing." I said.
"It's in the shop."
"Ohh what a shame."
I really meant it. He is annoying.
" So you still single?"
