This could not be happening. I refused to accept that it was.
"Are you being serious?" I said.
Dad looked over at me. "Yes. We're lucky to be alive right now."
I held my head. I don't even know what why. I just couldn't handle or comprehend something. But it was normal considering I was about to get killed by drug lords.
Mom walked over to me, trying to provide some type of comfort.
"We'll just have to stay with your grandmother Lisa for a while." She said.
"But she lives out of state." I said.
" I know, we'll just have to miss school and work for a while." She finished.
I had Love Laces coming up soon. It was worth half of my grade nearly. I couldn't miss that.
"But I have a performance soon." I stuttered.
"I'm sorry Alex." Dad jumped in.
I continued to hold my head.
"We can work to find some way you all could continue to stay here, but it would be best to have a backup plan." The seated officer said, he didn't sound too confident.
"How long are we going to have to stay out?" I said.
"There's no certain time. The station recommends a month at least." The standing officer said.
The standing officer, looked ironically like Eric himself.
"Okay." Dad said.
"Thank you." Mom said.
"No problem," the officer said, "you all have a good night."
"You too." Dad said.
The two walked out the house into the cold night. Winter was a couple days away but signs had already began showing. A cold breeze replaced their presence while officer Eric look a like shut the door.
"Alex..." Mom softly began.
"What." I snapped.
"I know you're upset, but we have to think of our safety."
"I know, but she's so boring." I winced.
The two looked puzzled.
"This doesn't seem like a time to make a joke Alex." Dad said.
"I wasn't making a joke."
********
"Alex!"

"I'm walking on sunshine. Ooooohoo. Walking on sunshine..." I sung.
It was my last day of school before having to stay in Oklahoma with Queen Knitty. I bet a million dollars if she wanted she could knit a sweater for the Empire State Building.
My strawberry shampoo had disappeared once more.
"STOP STEALING MY SHAMPOO!" I screamed.
Ari walked into my bathroom and sat on my toilet.
"What are you doing in here?" I said, slightly opening the curtain.
"Dad's fixing the toilet in the regular bathroom." She replied.
"Pass this to your sister." Mom said, appearing in the doorway.
