I Never Meant To Cause You Pain

Chapter 1

Jonah, six feet four inches of caramel complexion, short dark brown hair and medium muscular built is an entrepreneur with a five food chain outlet in the city. He caters to a wide variety of tastes and plans to expand overseas soon.

Kate, five foot seven inches of tanned complexion, long blond hair, slim but curvy built is a model who works at QG magazine full time. She shoots in a variety of places even traveling to distant countries in the fall.

Jonah had just finished doing his daily runs, checking his businesses, making sure they were operational and opened on time. He was on his way to lunch and decided to cary his girlfriend as well once she wasn't too busy. He arrived at the office where she had just finished a photo shoot for the cover of this month's bikini bottom theme. Surprised and also happy to see her boyfriend, Kate embraced him as she always does whenever he makes an appearance.

Jonah's appearance always means something and at this particular hour it means lunch. She quickly took a shower and got dressed, then they were on their way. Jonah and Kate drove through the busy city when an abrupt stop almost made Kate kiss the scented air refresher on the dashboard. The furious smushing of Jonah's horn signaled his anger but he also kept his composure as Kate was around.

The garbage truck infront of him finally pulled off and as Jonah moved forward, he could see an old woman now making her way to the pavement. He felt bad, he now understood why there was an abrupt stop. He apologized to Kate for not warning her of the stop but she understood. She was on her phone anyway.

Jonah didn't like when Kate was on her phone while they were together but Kate being herself didn't really care too much about anyone's opinion, and she especially hated when someone told her what to do, except her photogropher of course.

They finally arrived at Lincoln's Bistro on the corner of seventh and fifth. The  restaurant was already packed, luckily Jonah knew Lincoln so he reserved a space for the couple. The atmosphere although crouded was really nice and cool despite the summer heat outside. Kate couldn't wait to try the food.

A few minutes later two silver covered dishes were placed infront of them and upon opening, Kate grew excited. Jonah had the Spaghetti and meatball special and Kate had the shrimp Alfredo special. Jonah always knew what to order, that was one of the things Kate loved about her man.

With forks in hand, they began to partake. Light sips of water to moisten the lips and the throat, Kate then began to speak. "how do you always know how to order for me?","well I know my girlfriend a little more than she would like to give me credit for" Kate smiled and remained silent until they finished their meal. Her slight dimple barely unnoticeable was a feature Jonah always admired about a woman. He didn't care if it was a childhood accident that caused it to be there in the first place, he just needed to know it was there.

They had finished their meal. Jonah paid the bill and they were on their way back to Kate's office at QG magazine. Upon arrival she kissed his lips and thanked him for the meal before she disappeared into the rotating doors. Jonah drove off heading home to take a nice cold shower. He had just gotten the massaging sower head and couldn't wait to try it.

Keys in hand Jonah opened the front door, locking it behind him as he made his way inward. He flicked on the lights from the alarm keyboard on the wall and headed into his bedroom. He looked at himself in his custom made wall mirror before picking up a clean white towel and headed to the bathroom.

I feel good! Do do do do do do doo

Jonah wasn't the best of singers but the bathroom was his stage and he could perform anything there while staying cool and now getting a massage. Three Birds with one stone, not too bad. He couldn't stop thinking about Kate. A Beautiful model for one of the most famous magazines in the world and of all people she chose to be with, was him. How can one person be so lucky?

Jonah had literally the rest of the afternoon to himself since Kate wouldn't be home until nightfall. He decided to browse the web a little before taking a brief nap. Upon browsing, he discovered an ad for a white gold wedding ring with a flawless diamond at the center. The thought crossed his mind but then it was dismissed, on the account that Kate wasn't ready for that type of commitment just yet.

He then put the phone on his nightstand and turned his back as he quickly drifted to sleep. His thoughts ran wild as he wondered how it would be like to marry one day. He already had a house and vehicle but the addition of kids and a wife would make him a happier man. If he worked late there would be the aroma of food on the stove, a beautiful wife and two loving kids to jump on him. His stressful days would suddenly be forgotten as his arrival home would mean joy and laughter.

At night, instead of sleeping alone he would have his wife. They would talk or discuss anything about their day or the kids. They would have sex whenever they wanted to and fall asleep cuddling each other. Jonah really couldn't see himself with anyone else, Kate was perfect, his soulmate. He was sure that he wasn't infatuated in any way. Beauty is just skin deep but her attitude and her personality is what really drew him to her. For the longest time Jonah searched for someone like Kate, now he has found her.
