Chapter 6

Kate was alone with her boyfriend, who she wasn't sure could hear her apology.

Flashback

Jonah had loved Kate so much that he would have given up his life to save hers. When Jonah and Kate met, Kate had been in a complicated relationship. It wasn't revealed to Jonah until three months after dating. Jonah had been searching for girlfriend who would love and support him as he knew he would, and Kate showed that same enthusiasm that he had been searching for all along. It was too late for Jonah to turn back since he fell In love so quickly.

Kate and Jonah would be hanging out with each other, kissing, making love and discussing a future together. Suddenly Kate's phone would ring and her face would light up. She would go outside most times so she could speak freely with Charles, her boyfriend of six difficult years. On returning to the room she would ask Jonah to leave as she dressed to meet Charles at a party. Jonah although he knew now that she was involved with someone, still couldn't leave her alone. He knew men like Charles, what they want, the games they play and the girls they use.

Kate was one of them. Just another outlet to use and abuse. Jonah stayed out of love to try and convince Kate about Charles. Everytime she caught Charles cheating, Kate would run to Jonah for comfort but then a few days later, Charles would call and give her some bullshit excuse that she would just digest and take him back. This went on for some time and loyal Jonah would still be there at her side, hurting.

Kate didn't really like hurting Jonah but there was something about Charles, most likely the sex, that kept Kate wanting more. Jonah and Kate weren't having daily sex but the casual sex, she enjoyed. Kate, Jonah and Charles was now trapped in a love triangle. Charles didn't know about Jonah, but whenever he saw Jonah, Kate would just tell him that he was her cousin. Charles could have cared less, he already had the girl.

Kate eventually changed her life after there was an altercation involving her getting back at Charles and Jonah both with this one night stand she had at one of her friend's parties. Kate started going to church and taking life more seriously. She got rid of Charles and stayed with Jonah. Things were going well for the two, she invited Jonah to stay at her parents house for a while. One day Kate opened Jonah's Facebook and found a conversation between him and another girl,

Jonah86: so if we met I'm person and I kissed you, would you kiss back?

Abby54: there would only be 1 way to find out.

Kate caught a fit, she sent Jonah back to his home. She wasn't pleased at all. Jonah argued that it was just a question not like anything happened, but Kate didn't care. She eventually apologized and forgave him for acting up like that.

There was another incident where Jonah had went out with his Ex even though he and Kate were together. There were no feelings involved butshe begged him to come see her. She doesn't normally beg because of her ego so he thought she needed his help or something. He lied to her about his company that night so she was really upset. If it hadn't been for her trying to kill him, she wouldn't have known. His Ex left a scar on the side of his neck that he would remember forever.

Kate and Jonah had a great run for the next year until he screwed up again. When Jonah got his first car he became a little too friendly with this lesbian girl at his workplace, later he really descovered that she was actually bisexual. Jonah didn't have any feelings for her but he tried to help her out as a friend. Her mom used to pressure her about being a lesbian so Jonah offered to drop her home so mom would stop pressuring her as she saw a guy showing up often. Kate, because Jonah and his friend both put up the same picture found out about his little adventure.

Kate had trusted Jonah completely and he hurt her, not on purpose but it happened anyway. Kate was already insecure due to all her other relationships before but this one hit her hard. Kate had put Jonah through the worst and Jonah drifted around slowly and unknowingly. It really wasn't his fault since he meant nothing but Kate looked at all the incidents as him cheating.

Jonah apologized on many occasions and Kate had turned into a damaged, quarrelling, hateful bitch of a woman but Jonah still loved her deeply, despite the outcome of who she had become. Jonah had enough, he decided to return to his faithful self but Kate being so insecure now, pressured Jonah about everything. If he missed a call or texted her two minutes after, if he didn't call after work, if he didn't say I love you, too loud on the phone. It was crazy but he dedicated the rest of his life to show her that he had changed.

Present

Kate held Jonah's right hand and apologized to him for being so insecure and pestful towards him. She apologized for still fucking around even though she knew he was faithful. She knew he was a good boyfriend, he wanted to marry, he wanted kids one day but now she isn't sure that he would make it out of this for his dreams to come true. Kate regretted every bad thing she had ever done to Jonah but 'sorry won't fix a broken plate' as the saying goes. Kate had to wallow in her pain until Jonah could get back to himself. If he ever gets back to himself.

Who was Kate to afflict vengeance on Jonah for the mistakes he made? None of the incidents were sexual so why pressure him? Why hurt him?

The Bible actually said "Vengeance belongs to the Lord" and Kate should know that from going to church so often. Kate could finish shed tears that day. Kate shed so much tears, she got dehydrated. Her face hurt from fringing her face as she cried, her stomach still wrung up so she couldn't even eat. Jonah was in the hospital fighting for his life but Kate wished that she had died today. She asked God to heal him and take her instead. She asked forgiveness from both Jonah and God.
