Upon reentering the house freshly clothed, Austin and I are greeted with the familiar sound of my phone ringing. I carelessly step my way around the counters until Thea's voice rang over the speaker phone.
"Jesus, Laines. I've called you like five hundred times. The fuck have you been doing?"
I bite my lip as a sly smirk crosses Austin's face. He tosses his shirt over his shoulder in one swift motion, causing the water that had once been covering his body to immediately dampen the fabric. Now, I can officially die happy.
"We were swimming." I bite my tongue as my gaze turns to Austin who was concealing a knowing smirk. After effortlessly raising my middle finger in his direction, I jump onto the counter so I wouldn't have to commit to standing for a phone call which knowing Thea, could range from five minutes to five hours.
"Damn Laines. So when do I get to know how big his dick is?"
I immediately cough in hopes that I could have concealed her question, but Austin had most definitely heard as he moved his body across the kitchen so he was standing in front of me with a humored look across his demonic face.
Instinctively my legs wrap around his waist as my head fall to his chest in embarrassment for the words my sister freely used.
"Thea," I sigh, "You're on speaker and Austin is right here."
I was sure my voice came out mumbled so to my face being pressed against his bare chest, but she picked up on my words quite easily.
"Great. Austin, how big is your dick? Don't worry, I won't tell anyone. I'll just laugh if it turns out your small."
I press my head harder into Austin's chest in hopes it would teleport me anywhere but here, but to no avail, I remain in this exact horrific position.
Austin's large hand comes to my hair and he strokes my hair so calmingly that I almost forgot this conversation was happening.
An audible laugh emits from Austin and his chest rises under me but I couldn't care less.
"I'm not going to answer that, Thea," he shakes his head gently before his lips connect with my forehead.
Despite Thea being on the other side of the country, I could see her annoyance plastered over her face.
"I figured as much. Anyways, how was your dinner?"
My eyebrows furrow and my head jerks to where the phone was placed.
"What'd you call so many times for, Thea?" I ask, now worried.
There was complete and utter silence before my phone pings once more. I grab the device off the counter and click on a new text from Thea.
An article immediately comes up and I move my head from Austin's chest and brush my wet hair behind my ear.
I immediately read the title aloud just so Austin could know, "'Austin Wood Returns to Hawaii."'
My eyes squint closed and a sigh escaped my lips. My eyes skim the article for a second before I decide it was better if Austin knew what was happening considering this information could kill his reputation, 'Austin Wood, CEO and founder of Wood Enterprise, has been spotted lounging on the beaches of Hawaii, dining at some of the most delicious diners on the island of Honolulu, and spending some time with a mysterious woman who is yet to be identified. Many have speculated that Austin has left behind his newest assistant, Laine Bennett, after the news struck earlier this week about her unfortunate past. Here at Vogue, we think Austin Wood is escaping the drama packed Laine Bennett to relax with one of Hawaiian friends. Tell us what you think!'"
