I was mesmerized by the way her lips moved, and by the way she stared out the tinted glass windows of the limousine, there was absolutely nothing in this world that could draw my attention away from such pure beauty.

I could not help myself as I extend my hand in her direction. A playful smile crosses her painted lips as she glides along the leather seat to meet me on the other side. My thumb caresses the soft heated flesh of her cheek, and a delicate hum exhales from her throat.

We remain silent, having nothing to say as we wind the streets of New York. We were growing closer and closer to the venue for tonight and with that dawning thought, I keep all my attention on Lainey as it would the last minutes of such intimacy.

I pull her body to mine and ensure that not even the sharpest knife could cut us apart.

The familiarity of the passing streets outside give me a time frame of the thinning moments I had left with the woman to my right. Not wanting to ruin her makeup, I caress my thumb along her perfectly shaped jaw before pressing soft and innocent pecks along the line I had traces for myself.

A light giggle follows and her body molds into and awkward squirm. I follow with my own laughter before we fall silent once more.

Both of us knew that this was as far as we could go for tonight. But when we returned to my apartment after the events come to a close, I would milk up every inch of her body until it was mine for the proper taking.

Carelessly, I brush her fallen strand behind her ear before lowering my head.

"You look gorgeous tonight, Lainey," I assure her before continuing, "But that dress will look a hell of a lot better on my floor."

Having grown accustomed to my poor methods of achieving success with another woman sexually, Laine shakes her head in dissatisfaction but it was clear in her eyes, that she thought so too.

"You're terrible," she whispers in response. The heat of her cheeks radiated onto my own skin from our close proximity.

I shrug my shoulders before my words leave my mouth with no filter, "Stay by me tonight," I announce the internal conflict that left me hating the secrecy of our relationship.

A melodic sound hums from her chest as her hand meets the back of my head. Her nails slowly move through my hair, and that action alone causes my eyes to fall shut as a euphoric state takes complete control of my body.

"I want to, baby," she replies as her forehead meets my own, "But we can't spend the entire night trapped in our own little bubble. Sooner or later people will piece it all together and what will that make me?"

My eyes open quicker than initially intended. I was near the point of physically pouting to get my way, but I knew better than to appear vulnerable during a serious conversation.

"That will make you, my absolutely stunning girlfriend who I would like to show off to all the guys I hate. Come on, Lainey. It's my birthday, and honestly all I want is for you to be beside me."

An exasperated sigh follows, and her head lightly shakes. "I'll stay by you if it means that much, but I can't be there as your girlfriend, but your assistant. I value the man you are, Austin, and I refuse to jeopardize your career just because I want to be selfish."
