"Raven, you better wake up now." I heard Mom say. I woke up and saw Mom looking at me. "I heard you were fighting with Lori." Mom said. She was mad. "I understand you're mad, but you must eat. I don't want to get a call again saying you won't eat. I was going to leave right away, until Lori told me you had fallen asleep. I just don't want this to happen again. If it does, you will be grounded." She said. "I'm surprised you're not grounding me now." I said. "I wouldn't do that. At least not now. I am pretty mad that you did this, but I do understand." She said. "Now you and I are going to eat, and there is no fighting it." She added. "I kind of figured." I said. I got up and out of my bed. "Are those mine?" She asked. "Yes. I kind of took them from your room one day." I said. "Is this all you took?" She asked. "No. I also grabbed some more band shirts, but I had no sweatpants. I went over to your room, so I could have some sweats." I said. "We need to buy you some then." Mom said. "Can we just do it online?" I asked. "Yes." She said. "Okay." I said. "By the way we are talking about how you were acting earlier with me." She said. "I know. I was waiting for you to bring that up." I said. "I hope so. You don't get to get away with acting that way to me, so you are grounded to helping me. I also want any and all electronics expect your phone. I don't want you to run away once again. If I ever need some type of help, you must do it or you're losing your phone." She said. "I understand." I said. "Good. Now food time." She said.
We went downstairs and into the kitchen. I saw McDonalds sitting on the counter. "You got McDonalds?" I asked. "Yes. I didn't want to cook." Mom said. "You can cook?" I asked with a small smile. She looked over at me and glared at me. "Not funny, child." She said. "It was funny, woman." I said. "Marissa and others are painting Tyler's room. Which when we both are done eating we will be helping them." She said. "Okay." I said. "My manager, Phil, is here." She said. "So, do I have to meet him?" I asked. "You will be meeting him when we go up to paint Tyler's room." She said. "That's a yes." I said. She started to pull food out of the bag. "I didn't know what you liked, so I got some plain burgers and French fries." She said. "Okay." I said. "You have ketchup?" I asked. "In the fridge." She said. I walked over and grabbed the ketchup and walked over to her. I grabbed two of the burgers and put ketchup on them. I put ketchup on a plate, so I had some for the fries. "Is that enough ketchup?" She asked. "No." I said putting some more on the plate. "Do you have any old clothes that I could wear?" I asked. "Yes. Come to my room and we will change." She said. "Okay." I said.
I finished before Mom did, but she wouldn't let me leave. "You can keep the clothes." She said. "Really?" I asked. "Yes." She said. "Thanks." I said. "Come on. I want these clothes." I said. She looked over at me and smiled. "You're a weird kid." She said. She had a slight smile on her face. "Isn't that why you got me?" I asked. "Yes. Yes, it is." She said. "Does your management like your idea of adopting?" I asked. "They aren't too happy, but they just have to deal with it. Phil was the only one to understand where I was coming from. He thinks that this will be a good thing. He came here to meet you and your brother. He has already met Tyler. I got him while you were sleeping. I let you sleep some more." She said. "Thanks." I said.
Finally, she finished eating. "It's about time." I said. She looked over at me and flicked me off. "That's not nice." I said. Now she stuck her tongue out. "Let's go change." She said. She got up and threw all her trash away. "Let's go." She said looking back at where I was sitting.
We walked up to her room and she went into her closet. "Come on in." She said. I walked in, and man did it look like a small mall. I should know, but I was lucky when I found the sweatpants. They were in a basket on her bed, so I really didn't have to go into her closet. "Why do you have so much clothes?" I asked. "Because I like shopping." She said. "You seem so shocked. Didn't you have to come in here to get those?" She asked pointing to the sweatpants I was wearing. "No. There was a basket on your bed. I found these in it, so I grabbed them. I am quite glad that I didn't have to come into here now." I said. "It would have taken you a while to get some sweats without me." She said. She went over to a section of clothing. "Follow me young one." She said. "And no remarks." She added. "Okay." I said. I followed her over to a section of clothing. "These are shirts. I have many that you could wear. There are some sweatshirts here too. These are ones that aren't as important as the others." Mom said. "Okay." I said. I look at the sweatshirts, and saw some sweatshirts that I liked. "See ones that you like?" She asked walking over to me. "Yes." I said. I showed her the ones that I really liked. "You can take any of them." She said. I grabbed the one with 'Girl Power' on it. "Now I have some pants that you might want to wear." She said. She walked over to sweatpants and pulled a pair of galaxy print ones out. "Go put these on too." She said. She threw them over to me and I caught them. "You can go change." She said.
