"How much have you gotten?" Mom asked. I looked up at her and smiled. "Come sit next to me and I'll show you." I said. I scooted over some so she could sit next to me. "Okay." She said. She walked over and sat next to me. She looked at my computer and laughed. "You really went all out." She said. "Sorry." I said. Was she mad? I can't tell with her face. She looked normal. "Don't say that. I buy this much too. I find it funny. You are buying more bands shirts. I am glad that you are buying more colors with other clothes too." She said. "Really?" I asked. "Yes. I don't want you wearing black all the time. If you need to talk to me, you know you can, right?" She asked. "Yes." I said. "Good. How about we keep buying stuff." She said. "You're not mad with the prices you're going to have to pay?" I asked. "No because you need clothes." She said. "Thanks, Mom." I said. "No problem sweetie." She said. She was willing to let me get anything that I wanted. "I am so happy you adopted me." I said. She looked over at me. "Why?" She asked. "Because I have never gotten to have a family and someone to call mom." I said. "I'm glad I adopted you. I now have someone who will need me. I know you won't need me as much as Tyler but know that I will be there whenever you need me. I wish Marissa had told me about you, I would have gotten you." She said. "Don't blame Marissa. I am glad she didn't tell you about me because now you have Tyler and I." I said. Mom smiled at me and then hugged me.
A few hours later and thousands of dollars gone, Mom and I were just watching YouTube videos. "We were told we could find you up here." Dallas said. Mom and I both looked up to see Dallas, Maddie, and a sleeping Tyler (who was in Dallas's arms). "Hi. I'm guessing you two tired him out." Mom said. "Yes. We didn't mean to." Maddie said. "Do I have to call you two Aunt Dallas or Aunt Maddie?" I asked. "No. It seems weird." Maddie said. "You can call me whatever you want." Dallas said. "Okay." I said. "Let me go put Tyler in my room." Mom said. "No. Keep him in here. I don't plan on having anyone in here. He can stay." I said. "Raven, you don't have to." Mom said. "I know I don't have to; he's my little brother though." I said. "Okay. Dallas can you set him down over here?" Mom asked. "Sure." Dallas said. Dallas walked over and put Tyler onto my bed. "So, how was he?" Mom asked. "He was a good kid." Maddie said. "Did he act out?" Mom asked. "No. He was surprisingly very calm." Dallas said. "It's how you leave the center quicker." I said. They all looked at me. "Did you teach him that?" Mom asked. "Yes. I hated leaving the center, so when I did have to leave I threw huge hissy fits. I never regretted one." I said. "Why not?" Maddie asked. "Story time!" I said happily. Maddie, Dallas, and Mom all sat in front of me. "So, when ever I found out that a family or someone was looking into adopting me, I would get so angry that I threw fits. Families never seemed to want a kid that cried over the smallest things. Whenever that happened, someone found out that they beat the kids they were to get. Sometimes people were so into adopting me they became crazy. I never understood why until I got older." I said. "Why did people become crazy?" Mom asked. "Sometimes they were in it for the extra money they got; others were in it to get a punching bag. I never understand why people just want a kid to beat." I said. "I don't think any parent will understand why there are some parents who can just beat their children." Mom said. "Did anything cool happen at the adoption center?" Maddie asked. "Not really. You had a normal life, well as normal as possible, but if you wanted something you had to work for it." I said. "How did you work for it?" Mom asked. "Usually by helping out around the center and depending on how well you helped depended on if you got it." I said. "That's cool." Mom said. "They tried to teach you responsibility from a young age. They never wanted you to be a spoiled kid. We've had kids come from families that they were spoiled in, but once they get to the center they can't do anything." I said. "How did they learn what to do?" Dallas asked. "The kids that have been there the longest usually told them how the place works and all of the rules. I had to do it a few times." I said. "Did you know the rules well?" Mom asked. "Yes. After having to follow them for so many years I got used to them." I said. "That must suck." Dallas said. "Nope. It isn't that hard. You just get used to it. I know it seems weird, but it really isn't that weird." I said. "I don't think it sounds that weird. It's like us. We have different rules because of being famous, and we no longer question them." Maddie said. "Maddie's got a point." Dallas said. Mom nodded her head. "Can we go back to watching YouTube?" I asked. "Yes." Mom said. "I actually wanted to be a YouTuber." I said. "Really?" Dallas asked. "Yeah. At the center all we really had was YouTube." I said. "That must have sucked." Maddie said. "It really didn't because we got to choose video games or television as we got older and most of the older children choose video games." I said. ""Why'd you all choose video games?" Mom asked. "Because we knew that the world was a bad place, and we just wanted a break from the outside world." I said. "Wow." Maddie said. "You should totally try to be a YouTuber. I think you would be good at it." Dallas said. "Why's that?" I asked. "Because you have so many good qualities about yourself. You can easily make other people laugh and you care about others which is something a fanbase needs." Dallas said. "Dallas is right. You are an amazing kid." Mom said hugging me. "I would have to go buy things for my channel then." I said. Mom looked at me and smiled. "We will do that tomorrow." Mom said. "You don't care about me becoming a YouTuber?" I asked. "Not at all." Mom said. "I don't want you to be in many of my videos. I want people to like me for me not because I'm 'Demi Lovato's daughter'." I said using air quotes. "That's fine, but don't mind me being a proud mom and supporting you throughout this." Mom said. "How about whenever you two get back from getting the supplies for a YouTube channel, Raven and I go make a video." Maddie said. "Will you come with us? I don't really know exactly what I should get." I said. "Sure." Maddie said happily.
