Diagon Alley, the only place for a Hogwarts student to get everything they could possibly need for the school year. The two Bones decided to get Susan's robes first since that would take the longest since she would have to get her measurements taken, and the line was already outside of the small shop. The Potters headed over to Ollivader's to get their wands while Snape follows closely behind them and Hagrid went to get gifts for the brother and sister duo. The Malfoys separated into two groups. The father and son went to get robes while the mother and daughter went to get textbooks. The Weasleys split into small groups and somehow Guinevere ended up alone and began to wander around the alley eventually winding up in the bookstore. The bookkeeper at the front of the store eyes the red head but says nothing as she disappears behind the shelves. Guinevere admires each book with a small smile on her face. She walks up and down the aisle searching for the textbooks she would need for first year. Finally, she found the potions textbook but as she went to reach for it someone else grabs it first.
"Um, could I have that please? I need that for school." Guinevere asks the young blond girl standing in front of her.
"Here you can have this one." Rosabelle says reaching for another copy of the potions book and handing it to Guinevere . "Will you be going to Hogwarts as well?"
"Yes! It will be my first year! Although it doesn't feel like it because I've heard so much about it from my brothers." Guinevere responds.
"It's my first year too! Maybe we can be friends? My name is Rosabelle Malfoy." Rosabelle extends her hand for Guinevere to shake. She hesitates to shake Rosabelle's hand when she hears the girl's last name but shakes hands anyways.
"I'm Guinevere Weasley. I hope we can be friends even though our families are enemies." Guinevere states.
"Why couldn't you be friends?" Richelle says behind Guinevere. Both girls practically jump out of their skin when they hear Richelle speak. Neither of the girls had even seen the young ravenette behind them. Once Guinevere's heart had slowed down she went to explain why they couldn't be friends but Rosabelle beat her to it.
"There isn't a reason. Right Guin?" Guinevere looks at Rosabelle in shock at the newfound nickname. Her look of shock soon turned into a smile though, maybe this Malfoy wasn't that bad. Rosabelle seems different than what she was lead to believe about the Malfoy family. Maybe her family was wrong? Richelle smiles and reaches up for the potions textbook.
"Are you going to Hogwarts too?" Guinevere asks.
"That's right! It's me and my brother's first year there!" Richelle responds. "Oh and my name is Richelle Potter by the way!"
Guinevere and Rosabelle freeze upon hearing the ravenette's name. This was the girl who lived? Richelle scrunches her eyebrows when neither of the two girls introduce themselves. Rosabelle clears her throat and introduces herself first.
"I'm Rosabelle Malfoy. It's a pleasure to meet you." She nudges a still shocked Guinevere and the fiery red head straightens up and quickly regains her composure.
"I'm Guinevere Weasley. How do ya do?" Richelle smiles. She likes these two. Richelle throws her arms around the two girls as a a huge, contagious grin spreads across her face.
"I have a feeling that we'll be good friends." Richelle states. The other two girls nod and go up to pay for their books. Rosabelle was keeping one eye over her shoulder for her nosey mother though. If she saw her with a Weasley and a Potter, Narcissa would surely drag her away from her newfound friends.
"I'm curious about something Guin. You said you have brothers but where are they? I haven't seen anyone but us in the shop." Rosabelle asks.
"Oh well we all split up to get what we needed for Hogwarts. I'm sure they're at Zonko's right about now,"
"Zonko's? What's that?" Richelle questions Guinevere.
"It's a joke shop. My brothers are frequent customers there."
"You're brothers sound like fun people," Richelle states.
"You don't know the half of it," Guinevere responds. The girls walk back over to the books and chat for a while longer. They bond almost instantaneously. Time passes by and Richelle decides to leave and go to try and find her brother.
"Before you leave, I have a question for you." Rosabelle says.
"Fire away Ro!" Richelle responds in a childish manner.
"What did you just call me?"
"Ro! Your name is just so long, so I decided to just call you Ro for short!" Rosabelle smiles at the cheery ravenette in front of her and decides to except the nickname her new friend had decided to give her.
"Who brought you here Richelle? I mean someone must've since you and your brother didn't know about this place until today."
"You wouldn't believe me if I told you." Guinevere and Rosabelle look at Richelle and wait patiently for an answer. "Well one of the people who brought my brother and I here was named Hagrid and the other..." Richelle begins to chuckle at the thought of his nickname.
"What's so funny?" Guinevere questions her new friend.
"Well he looks like-," Richelle's answer was cut off when she turned around to face the doorway and saw Snape standing behind her with his arms crossed and a sneer on his face. Richelle screams and gets a stern look from the bookkeeper. She goes to run but is quickly caught by the back of her cloak.
"So this is where you ran off to," Snape drawls as he holds Richelle off the ground. She begins to kick and scream at him.
"Put me down Dracula!" She shouts at him.
"Do you know who that is Ro?" Guinevere asks Rosabelle as the two girls observe the odd scene in front of them.
"That's my uncle Severus," Rosabelle answers.
"But if he's your uncle then why wasn't he with you today?"
"He must be the other man that came with her and Harry. He's also a professor at Hogwarts."
"Oh now I remember him! My brothers talk about him a lot,"
"Really?" The two girls jump a bit when Richelle screeches again when Snape practically drags her out of the bookshop.
"See you two later!" Richelle shouts at her new friends as Snape drags her out of the bookshop by the back of her cloak. The two wave back at her.
"Well as I was saying. My older brother Percy respects him but Fred and George try to prank him and make him crack a smile, but they usually end up with detentions."
Rosabelle giggles just thinking about two students trying to prank her uncle. "I look forward to meeting your brothers. They sound fun."
"Speaking of my brothers I better go look for them and get back to my family. It was so nice meeting you Ro!" Guinevere says and Rosabelle nods in agreement.
"It was nice to meet you as well Guin. I look forward to seeing you at school." Rosabelle responds. Guinevere walks out of the bookshop and rejoins her family before they leave Diagon Alley. Rosabelle returns to her mother's side and to Rosabelle's relief her mother never even noticed that she had left. Richelle is eventually returned to Hagrid and Harry unscathed and Hagrid finally presents the duo with a pair of owls. Harry was given a snowy, white owl, while Richelle was given a pure black owl. The owls were obviously related to each other if how they acted was anything to go by. The three girls all look forward to the next time they will see one another, and luckily for them they won't have to wait very long.
