Chapter Seven - The Hogwarts Train

The train was better that what the girls had imagined it was. Smoke blew from the whistle signaling it was the last call for everyone to board the train. Guinevere, Richelle, Harry, and the rest of the Weasley clan hustle to the train and board as it starts to pull out of the station. The two girls wander around the train for a bit trying to find a car that wasn't too cramped. Richelle gasps and grabs Guinevere's hand and pulls her into a train car that Rosabelle was sitting in by herself.

"Thanks for saving us some seats Ro!" Riles says to her other new friend.

"Where have you two been? I've been looking for you for ten minutes!" Rosabelle exclaims. Guinevere sheepishly smiles and giggles.

"Well the twins kind of made us run a little late cause they hid the floo powder... again." Guinevere responds. Rosabelle rolls her blue-gray eyes just imagining the scene in her mind. The three girls settle into their seats and share stories about their families and lives. Once the train had settled into a consistent speed the trolley cart began making rounds around the train.

"Anything from the trolley dears?" The older woman asked the three giggling girls. Guinevere immediately jumps up and looks at the cart. She wanted to get licorice wands and chocolate frogs for her and her friends to share, but she saw the price and remembered that her family was poor. Rosabelle puts the candy in her redheaded friend's hands and pulled out the money to pay for the treats. The trolley woman then walks off with a soft smile on her face and disappears into the next train car. Guinevere hands Richelle and Rosabelle one of each treat and begins to eat the licorice wand.

"Chocolate frogs? Is it real?" Richelle asks.

"No it just has a spell on it so it will have one good jump in it." Guinevere explains.

"And besides you want the card anyways. The chocolate frogs aren't very good anyways." Rosabelle pipes up. Richelle opens the package and the chocolate frog hops out and lands on Richelle's face, who immediately begins to jump around the train car in an attempt to get the frog off of her. Eventually the frog leaps to the window and gets sucked outside. Richelle sits down and catches her breath while the other two try to stop laughing.

"It's not funny you two! The frog could've killed me!" Richelle exclaims.

"You're absolutely right Riles. We shouldn't be laughing." Rosabelle says with a smile on her face.

"Yea that frog was definitely a killer," Guinevere sarcastically states. Richelle sticks her tongue out at the snickering red head and looks at the card she got.

"Look guys! It's Dracula!" She says showing the card off to her friends. "Oh, where did he go?"

"It's just a small spell. They don't stay on the card forever. He'll come back sometime." Guinevere points out. The sound of someone clearing their throat catches the attention of all three girls. They each look to the front of their car and see a frizzy haired girl around their age standing there.

"Have either of you seen a toad? A boy named Neville has lost one." She questions each of them.

"Sorry. I'm afraid we haven't seen a toad." Rosabelle answers for the group. The girl sighs.

"Alright thanks anyways. Oh, and I'm Hermione Granger by the way, and you three should probably get changed into your robes. We're going to be arriving soon."

With that, Hermione disappears and the three girls go to the bathroom to change. They head back to their car just in time to see the forest roll by their windows in the distance.

"That's the forbidden forest. Fred and George told me that if you get a detention that's where you serve it." Guinevere mentions as they roll by it.

"Really? That's kind of harsh." Rosabelle states.

"Sounds neat! Maybe we should go explore in there!" Richelle chirps. The two girls look at their friend in fear. Was she being serious? Judging by the look on her face, she was dead serious. The train comes to a stop and they see kids walking by their train car. The three girls follow the other kids lead and follow them off the train and onto the outside platform where they wait for further instructions.
