I walked into Apple Bee's I was meeting Lisa, my dad's girlfriend and her daughter, well my sister Mari.
It took me a couple of weeks to actually agree to meet her, but I finally am.
I walked in seeing them at a table I walked over and sat down. She smiled shyly at me. I did the same.
"Hi Mari." I said to her smiling as she ate her applesauce. She's so cute I love little kids. I can't wait to have my own in the future.
"Hi, you're pretty. What's your name?" She asked.
"A'Nya." I answered.
"Ooh mine is A'mari." I smiled down at her.
Just like my dad to name both of us with A names. His name is Aaron but his street name was A-Ron.
We all ordered our drinks and food and decided to talk while we waited.
"Look I really wanna apologize about everything. I honestly thought you knew about us and just didn't wanna meet us yet. I made your dad admit everything to me. I didn't know your mom was his wife 5 years ago when Mari came along. I was told they weren't together. I been on and off with him for five years and it was all lies. I'm just really really sorry."
"It's honestly not your fault. We were both lied to." I said playing with my fingers. "I'm just glad you're not some hoe." I said making us laugh even though I was dead serious.
"I just can't get over how embarrassing this situation came about." She said shaking her head as our food came. "I can't believe I even told your boyfriend Shaun to talk you into meeting us when you didn't even know of us. No wonder he looked so shocked."
"Wait you met Shaun?"
"Yeah a couple weeks ago at the mall. I recognized him from y'all prom picture." I nodded slowly.
"So he knew about y'all and didn't tell me?" I asked more to myself.
"Oh I really thought you knew please don't let me ruin your relationship."
"We're not even together at the moment so it doesn't even matter." I said shrugging.
"Another story for another time. So does she know I'm her sister?" I ask looking at Mari playing a game on her mom's phone.
"No I didn't tell her yet. Mari?"
"Hmm, mommy? Wait, mommy." She whined when she took the phone.
"No you wait. I have to tell you something." She nodded. "So you know this is Nya and she is your sister."
She scrunched up her face. "You have another daughter mommy?" She asked making us laugh.
"No she's your daddy's daughter, so she's your big sister."
"Oh. Are you a nice big sister or a mean big sister?" She asked making me chuckle.
"I'm nice babe."
"Cool." She cheered. "I always wanted a sister. Can I come to your house sometimes?"
I nodded. "I actually wanna spend time with her I was gonna ask you can I take her out and spend the day together." I said to Lisa.
"Girl yeah, get her outta my hair for awhile. Shit you want her to spend the night? Let me pack her a bag." She said making me laugh.

"I had so much fun Ny-Ny." Mari said as we walked into my apartment. She begged and begged her mom to stay so she let her.
We spent the day getting our nails and toes done. We got ice cream and went to the park.
"Where's daddy? Or you live by you self?"
"I live by myself." I said putting her in my lap as Netflix loaded on the tv.
"Oh yeah yous a grown up." She said eating her lollipop. I bust out laughing while she looked at me like I'm crazy.
I shook my head before telling her lets take a picture. We smiled as I took the picture so I could put it on IG:
"Look at my lil twin 🅰'Mari"

I haven't seen or heard from Dez in a minute. Even if me and Shaun ain't on good terms that's still my little brother.
After Mari fell asleep I put her in my bed. I laid at the bottom of the bed watching Martin. My phone kept vibrating with notifications from Instagram. I was getting tagged in a video Shaun put up. It was Yo Gotti's part of Teyana Taylor - Maybe. I smiled I'm the one the put that nigga on that song.
"..you in my head, what the fuck? 😏"
