Just a note to say this is more a fun chapter for me to write about the Wedding speeches, I know it's really long so it's not necessary to read for the plot of the story❤️

"Good evening everyone, I'm Rob Lucy's Dad. Now I should be used to these sorts of things but I'm not gonna lie I hate them. I was thinking about letting Sam do the speech instead but I thought I couldn't put you through that" my dad chuckled "I wanna thank you all for coming to celebrate with us. Today seems pretty crazy, I never thought that my little girl would be getting married at 20 years old, especially not to a guy who loves her so much. If anything I thought if she was gonna get married at 20 it'd be a drunken Vegas mess" he laughed "all jokes aside, I'm so happy for you both you really are perfect for each other. I mean, whenever I see Lucy with Jesse there's this sparkle in her eye that I've only ever seen when she's with him and for that, Jesse I can't thank you enough" he smiled trying not to tear up "and before I end this, Lucy only gave me two instructions about what to say today, one was not to embarrass her which I think I've managed pretty well. The second is a little more difficult and I couldn't not mention it, so don't kill me Lucy. My daughter, the daughter of a Leeds fan is marrying a Manchester United player. And I think that just shows how much I love you guys" he laughed "it is my pleasure to propose the first toast to the happy couple. So could I ask you please raise your glasses to the Bride and Groom" my Dad said ending the toast and giving me and Jesse a hug.

"I would like to thank my brand new father in law, Rob, for his kind words. Okay so before I start I think it may be worth a mention that there are going to be several toasts and you'll be getting up and down a lot so Kyle raise your hand if you get cramp and a physio will be right over" Jesse joked and Kyle got down on the floor and did his 'Kyling' position "right onto you lot, it makes me the happiest man in the world to say that my Wife and I thank you for coming today, especially Lucy's friends and family coming up from London" Jesse smiled "I know not all of you guys were on board straight away because of me being 24 at the time but i can't thank you enough for accepting me into your crazy family. I know it's hard to believe but for those of you who don't know Lucy's family is actually crazier than mine" he chuckled "even though they're not as crazy as Lucy's my family is everything to me and I can't thank them enough. Without you all I wouldn't be where I am today so I'd like everyone to raise a glass to our families" Jesse announced "Lucy looking back on where we first met-" Jesse said before I interrupted 

"I cannot escape and I cannot forget, Southgate you're the one, you still turn me on, football's coming home again" I sung and everyone joined in "sorry Jess I couldn't not" I laughed

"right classic Lucy" Jesse laughed "anyway, Lucy and I met at a bar, no surprise that Lucy was there, I think we all know that! But Lucy you looked gorgeous then but nothing can compare to what you look like today. I mean, jheeze you are absolutely stunning and you deserve the best in the entire world and I'm so happy you think I'm good enough for you" Jesse smiled stroking my cheek "now let's make a toast, to my wife, Lucy! Okay Lucy just told me to move on so I just want to say a massive thank you to our Wedding party, I know for a fact I wouldn't of got here on time without you guys and girls I would say the same for you, but Lucy was most definitely late because of you" Jesse chuckled "so I think that's enough from me, I'm regretfully gonna hand you over to the best man and my best friend (for now anyway), Marcus!"

"thanks Rob and Jesse, I hope everyone's enjoying the day so far, for those of you who don't know I play with Jesse for Man U as well so if you see Rob glaring at me that's why. I'd like to start by thanking Lucy for planning such an amazing Wedding, Jesse don't make that face we all know you've done nothing" Marcus chuckled "on behalf of the whole Wedding party we'd like to thank Mr and Mrs Lingard for trusting us, I know it was hard for you Lucy especially with Sunny and Jamal. I think we've all been pretty good so far, but the bar hasn't been open for that long so good luck! In all seriousness during Robs speech I was thinking about how history really does repeat itself. I mean it was 20 years ago that Rhonda and Rob were sending their daughter to bed with a dummy...and it's happening all over again today." Marcus joked and Jesse poked his tongue out at him "now I know at this point in a best man speech the stag do would've been mention but Jesse's PR manager warned me against it, sorry Luce" Marcus smiled at me cheekily "I've actually been looking forward to this speech for ages, not because it's Jesse's Wedding, but because I'll actually be able to speak for longer than 2 minutes in his presence without him interrupting me. Nah I'm joking Jess you've been like the annoying big brother I already have, sorry Dane, and Lucy you are definitely the annoying little sister I never had. So basically you're a dream for each other, but a nightmare for me. So lets raise our glasses to the new Mr and Mrs!" Marcus toasted

"okay hi, I wasn't supposed to be doing a speech or anything but after hearing Marcus's I couldn't not so I'll try and keep it short" Gracie chuckled "so I'm Gracie for those that don't know and I've known Lucy since the day I was born, yep I've had to deal with seeing her nearly everyday, even going on holidays together every year for 19 years. Basically, Jesse I've lasted and I don't even like her, that's how I know you two will last forever" Gracie joked "I know it's still your Wedding and all but I think I can speak for everyone when I say we just want you to have kids already, so good luck tonight" Gracie winked and I lightly pushed her "I'm not gonna stand here and list all the funny mistakes Lucy's made in her life because the best stories aren't allowed to be spoken about in front of our parents and she's definitely got some dirt on me. Which wouldn't matter but I'm not married yet so I've got her speech to come" she laughed "I think all that's left to say is I haven't known Jesse for too long but I can tell how much he loves my best friend and he's all that I could ever want for my best friend. So lets toast to the couple who are now stuck with each other" Gracie announced
