After two weeks, Gustav and Ivy were very comfortable with each other. And Gus was even smiling around his mother. They had planned on going to the ice rink and skating rink since Gus had never been to either. "Mama, I'm going with Ivy to the skating rink!" His mother peeked her head around the wall from the laundry room.
"Do you have your wallet and phone?"
"Yes. I don't have my cigarettes but I have my lighter and Juul." She nodded and blew a kiss.
"Love you, sweetie."
"I love you too, mama bear." He smiled and walked out the front door. Ivy was standing in front of her dad's white Luxus ES F Sport. She turned her head and smiled, seeing Gus walking up to her. "Hey, lovely."
"Hello, Gustav." The black-haired girl didn't expect him to get as close as he did to her. She looked at the black-and-pink-haired boy's lips then his chocolate brown eyes. "You're a... really close there..."
"I can get closer." Gus leaned down slowly and awkwardly, getting his lips closer to Ivy's until her dad honked. Ivy got in the front seat quickly. The boy stood there for a second until he got in the back of the car. He sat in the middle seat, not bothering to buckle up.
"Dad, this is Gus... Gustav this is my dad, Andrew." The brown-haired man looked back at the younger boy. He smiled incompetently.
"Hi, sir."
"I saw what you did. So far, you haven't impressed me. You better be damn glad first impressions are always weird or else I wouldn't be leaving my daughter with you, boy." Gus melted into the seat. Andrew turned back around and Ivy hit him on the shoulder.
"Dad! Be nice." She turned to the boy. "Sorry, Gustav."
"I-it's okay..." He sat up slightly but moved closer to Ivy's seat rather than Andrew's. As they drove to the rink, the only thing that cut through the thick silence was the heavy metal faintly playing in the background. Gustav sighed and leaned on the door and stared out the window. He checked his phone every-now-and-then until someone text him.
Hey Steve, look im sorry how we left things off...
As Gustav was about to respond, the other person text again.
And i want you to know that ive moved on so you can too finally
Who tf is this? i aint no steve, and i aint ever known someone with this number. Move it or lose it pancho.

He quickly sent his favorite gif before the person could respond.

idk am i? well, anywho imma block u know bc thats what my mommy tells me to do if i dont know someone. BYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!!!!
Gus hit the red text that read block and sighed, looking back out the window. He licked his lips. "Help me find a way to pass the time... everybody tellin' me life short but I wanna die..." He thought for a second and opened his phone, going to his Notes. He opened his song lyric note and wrote down what he whispered.
Andrew pulled to a stop and Gustav got out. He saw Ivy opened her door, pause, then shut it again. The pink-and-black-haired teenager stood awkwardly next to the Lexus, seeing girls walk into the rink in a pack. Ivy finally got out and shut the door. "You good?"
"Yeah," she said snippily, adjusting her small backpack strap on her shoulder. They walked into the building and Gustav looked around. "So, do you wanna go ice skating or roller skating first?"
"Which is easier?" Ivy just laughed. The boy looked at her with a serious look. "I'm serious... and I don't appreciate you laughing at me being a loser, Ivy."
"Sorry..." She chuckled. "But to answer your question, ice skating is better for beginners because once you get your balance, it's a breeze."
"Then let's do that first." He grabbed her hand, absentmindedly interlocking his fingers with hers, and drug her to the ice skating rink next door.
