Gus walked into Science and sat at the empty, elevated table in a wooden chair that irritated his tail bone. He saw Ivy and Manuel sitting in her and Gustav's old spots at the single desks. The goth boy sighed. The pink-and0black-haired teenager messed up bad but he didn't apologize since he didn't know how and Ivy needed to apologize as well.

He looked at his hands that were resting palms up. They clenched into a fist. Don't think about her, you're better than she can see. Don't go begging, it'll make you seem weak. The voice said deeply.

But that's all you've ever been and will be. Another spoke, this time not as deep. She doesn't need or want you anymore; all you do is hold her back. This girl is better than you--just admit it, Gustav. You're pointless, that's why your father left you.

"That's not the reason he left," Gus barked and slammed his fist on the table, getting everyone's attention. He looked at everyone as if he could see every single one of their thoughts.

In a way, he could.

There were different voices now.

Freak, loser, weirdo, loser, moron, idiot, all different kinds of insults. He felt the need to cry and pass out. The pink-and-black-haired boy grabbed his bag, pulling a small container out that looked like a Ouija board. He asked around for a carton of juice until Gracie gave him one. He opened the container and popped a Xanax, chasing it down with the small carton of grape juice.

The voices stopped...

He sighed. "Gus, you okay?" The boy looked at Layla like a deer in headlights.

"Yeah, just a uh... panic attack..?" He lied but it came out more like a question. Gustav didn't know how to explain what had just happened without sounding literally insane. He shook it off as lack of sleep and nerves.

The 16-year-old looked at Ivy and Manuel. They were doing separate things; Manuel talking to girls on the volleyball and softball team while Ivy had her head down with her earbuds in. What's she doing?

Gus shrugged it off as nothing until Mr. Johnson pulled her outside. She came back briefly but only to get her stuff then leave once again. Gustav pulled his phone out of his pocket weakly and glanced at the lock screen of Ivy and him at Starbucks acting silly. He smiled sheepishly then saw and felt a tear fall on his wrist. Gustav wiped the tear away quickly. He unlocked his phone and went to Instagram.

He went to his DM's and DMed Ivy, but he had to do a double take since she changed her username.

lilbopeeperz- are you okay?

Instagram: We're sorry but cryingfailure has blocked you as of 40 minutes ago.

He sighed and went to his home screen. Gustav stared at it until the bell rang and he blindly tried to put it in his pocket, but it fell face down on the gray, concrete floor He screamed and quickly picked it up.

The screen was completely cracked.

He put his phone on the desk and rested his temple on the cold, black table. He began quietly crying. "What the hell world? What the literal hell?"

"Gus, don't cry!" Grayson, Layla, Gracie, and Baylee came over, hugging and comforting the crying pink-and-black-haired boy.

"The world hates meeee!"

"Why do you think that, Gus?" Layla asked with a hand on his shoulder blade.

"'Cause this happened and-and Ivy and I got i-in a fight and now sh-she hates me!" He wiped his tears, only to be replaced with more. The girls eventually got Gustav to stop crying but he was still sad for multiple reasons--some he not even knowing. Now that his thoughts were cleared, his jealousy came back and brought a friend named migraine.

He whined and rubbed his forehead. Gus groaned. The pink-and-black-haired teenager took out his Ouija container, grabbed a Xanax, put it back, and took out his migraine medication bottle. He took both pills without water, just saliva. "I need to call my mom."

Gus motioned for the girls to sit back down as he cautiously called his mom. He already went depress-o mode, he didn't want glass in his finger and another thing to cry about. "Gus, why're you calling me in school?"

"Mama, I gotta migraine... and uh, my phone fell on the floor and now the screen is busted." He paused. "And Ivy and I got in a fight. I think she hates me now."

"Sweetie, she doesn't hate you," Liza promised. "Take your meds and we'll get you a new phone. You've had that one long enough."

"Thanks, mama." His smile was obvious in his voice.

"You're welcome." They both paused. "Just talk to Ivy okay?"

"I kinda can't 'cause she left. And she blocked me. Could you possibly try to call her or Andrew?"

"Sure. I love you, Peep."

"Love you too, mama." The pink-and-black-haired teenager hung up and put his phone in the side pocket of his Adidas bag.

If only this was just a bad dream...
