Chapter 24 Brewer's Den

I slide onto the floor and start bawling out my eyes. Yesterday same time I was so happy with my life and I don't know whether everything around me is a joke or something else. I am so confused.

I know I am overreacting, and I have to give him the benefit of doubt.

But simply it's just that I need some time a lot of things have happened this 1 week. It has literally not even been 1 week since I came and tonnes of drama have happened.

So after getting into the shower I scrub well and let the water take away all my tears.

I wear my comfy trousers and long loose black shirt and hop into the bed.

After a dreamless slumber, I get up in the morning from a face time call from my parents. They are all planning to go on a small picnic, and aunt is doing really well.

They tell me to take care and it's officially the weekend and it's Friday.

Normally on Friday's my parents and I go to the theatre to watch new movies or go out to eat.

So after lazing around the house and after completing the hws that I received from my dear friends.

I wear a flowy black top with black ripped jeans and notice I have put on some weight on the abdomen region and my thighs are trying to spill out of my jeans, I wear a brown long coat to cover up my big arms.

I know I sound like I hate my body but there are bad days for everyone isn't it!?

I take my phone and put into my purse and wear my trusted converse.

And made sure I switched off all the lights around and walk out to lock the door and started walking aimlessly. I saw in the internet there was a cafe nearby so I thought of checking it out.

I walk to the cafe and it's name is was "Brewer's den" it looked very chic and hipster kinda.

I loved it in there, the ambience was very calming. I went towards the barista who was a girl looks like my age, I smile at her and start looking at the menu.

She says "Are you new to this place?"

I nod my head and she continues "I can give you some options if you don't mind?"

I smile at her and say "Please! That would be helpful!"

She chuckles and say "We have the best Chocolate eclair and to wash it down I can give you some strong caffeine if you want it?"

I nod my head and say "Chocolate eclair sounds wonderful but for the drink I will take a Green Motcha latte."

She nods her head in approval and gives me the bill and says "Wait for 5 mins, do you want a take away or eating here?"

I say "Here!"
And take the money to pay her, she directs me to the cashier. I go to the cashier to pay, that time I hear a chime from the door hanging indicating a new customer and I can see the Browns entering the cafe like celebrities minus the media.

There is Sarah Brown wearing Gucci and Robert Brown in Armani suit and there is lil Justin in trousers and cartoon T-shirt.

And there is none other than the great Jacob, who is now having a staring contest with me, he is wearing a classic leather jacket and blue jeans but still making me go nuts and there is also that surfer boy cousin too.

I hear the cashier clear his throat and I turn to him embarrassed has he had to witness that and I take the change and go towards the corner booth, my aim was not to get noticed by the Browns but it was shattered when the barista screams out my name.

I duck my head down and go take my order and give her a forced smile and go to my booth. I start eating without looking up but I noticed a pair of red heels coming towards my booth.

I finally muster up the courage and look up to see the loving face of Sarah Brown, she has a angelic smile directing towards me.

I stand up involuntary, and she motions me to sit down and slides into the opposite side of the booth. She looks at my order and I wish I could be sucked into black hole then.

She smiles at me again and says "Hi Savannah! How are you? Where are your parents?"

I smile back at her though it looks much more forced and I say "Hi Mrs.Brown, I am good! How are you? My parents are in their hometown, my aunt is sick so.."

She nods her head in understanding and there is an awkward silence followed by her asking one thing which I was praying all gods to not to ask! "Hey do you mind? You can join us?"

And I couldn't say anything, I just stared at her! I guess she understood my silence and begins "Oh right I am sorry you don't have to, I don't know why? I am really sorry Savannah. I don't know what's wrong with that boy!"

It was really so bad to see such a posh woman, who has a really good reputation, is being currently a crumbling mess. I even noticed her eyes are tearing up.

So I shake my head and say "Please Mrs. Brown don't say those things, I don't know about him but I know you guys are so good! It's just... it's fine I would love to join you guys and be a intruder in your family day out!"

I laugh at my last sentence and I can see she soberd up from her tears and dabs her eyes with tissue and says "Don't be silly, it's our pleasure to have you with us! Come on!"

I take up my tray and go towards my inevitable. I can see Mr. Brown and the boys talking something so lively there is smiles on all faces and Jacob looked completely different and Justin was about to say something.

When Mrs. Brown says "Hey guys look who decided to join us!"
I wave my hands awkwardly and say hi to Justin and Mr.Brown.

And I look up to Jacob who has the pained expression on his face like yesterday. And I hear the strange surfer boy say "Hey the chick from that day, mate you know her right?"

He bumps his shoulder with Jacob and he has alarming look on his face. That's when I realized he didn't tell his parents about our little meet up. And it striked me how could he? He still didn't tell them the truth right!

I look around the table to see Mr and Mrs. Brown to have questioning look on their faces. And before they could ask something I say "Excuse me I want to use the loo!"

And start running when I hear Jacob say "Hey sav that's the way out!"

I hit my head mentally and just look back at them and smile and motion something with my hands and walk towards the barista when I hear Mrs. Brown say "Jacob why don't you show her the way, she seems a bit lost."

I can notice the humor in the sentence and is not gone unnoticed by Jacob as well. He gives her a blank look but she just motions him to go. I hear a huff, followed by a hand placed on the small of my back.

I am sure I heard some awes from the back but before I could turn, he starts pushing me towards the loo.
