Chapter 11:
Nori watched TV in the rec room. She figured Theo would be back soon. She was sprawled out. The door swung open. Theo silently tossed her a bag of medicine and left, closing the door behind him.
She didn't know what that was, but it wasn't anything she had seen before from Theo. She opened the bag and took two of the medicines.
She heard a peculiar noise. It sounded like extremely muddled speech. Nori padded over to the door. What was he up to? She grabbed the handle. It was locked.
She could hear Theo pacing, listening to the muffled speech.
She had time. She flipped back to the news. She had been watching for most of the time he was gone. She was locked into the house tightly.
So far she hadn't been mentioned. It was somewhat surprising. Then again, she never stayed on the news channels too long just in case he came back. Besides, if they knew that he had her, then they might not do a public appeal for info.
Maybe the flash of red hair on the news hadn't been her yesterday. She felt disappointed that no one was looking, but then again a feeling of relief washed over her. If they didn't look then they couldn't get hurt.
It was hard to be positive.
Nori sighed. She turned off the TV. It was useless to wait for the news that she was missing. The news may never come. Especially if they were trying to prevent Theo from seeing it.
She turned off the TV.

Theo paced around listening to the police scanner. Did that girl recognize him?
So far nothing was said over the scanner about him being spotted. He would have to lay low. He couldn't let anyone take his precious Nori.
She was the only one left to keep him going. Everyone else had abandoned him. This must have been how his father felt.
Theo ran up the stairs. He had to do some damage control.

Nori wanted to go back to bed. She no longer heard Theo moving about. She was so tired. She banged on the door.
"Theo! Please let me out."
But there was no sound. She tried getting his attention for a few more minutes, but nothing.
Nori was too tired for this. She turned out the lights and laid on the couch. She drifted off to sleep. She woke with a start. She was back in the bedroom.
Theo must have brought her up here. She wasn't chained to the bed, so that was good. She put on her glasses and went to the door. It was locked. Not that She could leave the house. She turned back to the bed.
There was a note on the fridge, along with a protein cookie and her medicine. She picked up the paper covered in hurried writing. "I had to go out, be back late. Don't wait up. There's food in the mini fridge. Love Theo."
Nori sat down and opened the mini fridge. Theo left her a salad and fruit along with a juice box. Maybe this was Theo's way of forcing her to watch her weight.
She took her blood sugar and quietly ate. If he was truly gone till late she could finally watch the news. In peace. She flipped to a channel and zoned out while they talked about politics. By the time the topic switched she had moved on from salad to the fruit.
They spoke about a producer caught soliciting younger girls. If she was going to be mentioned now was the time. She wasn't extremely famous, but she was known enough that someone would have to care.
"Now we go to Emily Kowalski." They cut to a woman outside Nori's building. This was it.
"I'm here outside the Manhattan apartment of Honoria Fintan, who last year was abducted by actor Theo Masterson. Police were called to the scene by an officer guarding Miss Fintan in the wake of Theo's escape from St. Argus Mental Hospital. Four were found dead when police arrived and Miss Fintan disappeared. All her possessions were left behind. At the present time it is believed Miss Fintan was abducted by Theo Masterson yet again. Now back to everyone in the studio."
They cut back to the anchor. Nori's face flashed on the TV, as did Theo's. It was an older picture. He didn't look like that. She felt her heart drop.
The anchor said, "Police are currently looking for any information on Theo Masterson's whereabouts as well as Miss Fintan's. He is believed to be armed and dangerous. If seen do not approach him. Any tips can be reported to the number on the screen. Honoria is 5'4 with red hair and a slim build and wears black glasses. She's 24 years old and has hypoglycemia."
Did they have any leads? She couldn't do this alone. She blew her nose. She took some more medicine. It was hard to believe how much she slept. Then again, when she was sick she barely did anything but sleep.
She watched to see if Derek would come on, but they went to a lighthearted story about a dog saving his owner from a heart attack. She missed Celeste. It was hard to believe her beloved dog had originally been a gift from Theo and it was harder to believe that the British government sent her the dog when she escaped.
She somehow felt more alone in this moment than she had in her entire life.
She changed the channel until something caught her eye. She settled on a God-awful made for TV romantic comedy. When she watched made for TV rom-coms she spent more time cringing at the bad dialogue. But it was mindless entertainment.
She had more energy now than she had all day. So after that movie she watched another, munching on her protein cookie.
Before she knew it it was 1 am. She heard a door slam. She heard a loud scream.
"Let go of me!" It was a girl's voice.
"Shut up! You're going to wake my precious girl."
"Fucking let go of me you sick bastard." Had Theo kidnapped someone else.
Nori didn't want to find out. She scrambled for the remote and shut off the TV. She ran to the light switch and turned it off. She didn't want him to do anything when he came in.
"Shut up! Shut up!" he yelled at the newcomer.
He came up the stairs. She heard him banging around. He went into another room. The other girl was screaming nonsense.
This wasn't supposed to happen. He wasn't supposed to hurt anyone else now that she was here.
Nori laid petrified under the blankets. The girl stopped screaming. The room opened. Theo went to the other room and finally came into her room.
"Nori," he said softly. He turned on the lights and walked over to her. She looked up at him. What was going on? "I have a present for you."
She was afraid to set him off. She took his hand and got up. She followed him out of the bedroom to one of the other rooms upstairs. He put in a code, making sure he blocked the keypad from view.
The door swung open and there, chained to the walls of what could only be described as a punishment room was an unconscious girl chained to the wall. She was in party clothes and she couldn't have been much older than 19 or 20.
"Theo, what's going on?"
"I got you a friend."
